What would you choose as dinner options?

Original post by NewYorker09

We're having a debate here, I want to know what most people think is the most appropriate to offer.

I think the 2nd is more appropriate. Some people don't eat red meat and also a lot of people don't like sea bass. It's not exatly a safe fish choice, so I'd opt for the chicken.

I may be biased though since I will not serve any lamb or veal at my wedding

Chilean Sea Bass is actually an excellent choice for a fish. It's white, not very overwhelming in taste, and has a very meat-like texture. Salmon, (which I love) has a much 'fishier' taste, and is much more fatty, which many people don't like. If your RH offers it, try it in your tasting! You may be surprised! We had it at our tasting and I was blown away! It was a part of our menu.

I think Sea Bass is on our menu (but we have 8 choices), but it makes me gag. I hate it so so much. I'd much rather have tilapia or mahi Mahi

Mmmm Mahi Mahi!!!!! YUM!!

Yeah I am thinking of asking them if it's possible to change it to mahi mahi....mmmmmmmm

#2 b/c i think you should include a chicken option for those that don't like beef

I would go with the chicken, as many people dont eat lamb. And if they dont eat red meat...it limits their option.

i think we're doing filet mignon, chicken, and halibut (my personal fave!)

I'd go with the second unless you have a really classy, chicken-less crowd. Baby lamb chops are a status food so if you want to impress, go that way. If you want people to actually eat, go with the chicken. IMO.

i voted for #2. its a tad risky to not offer a chicken dish. i went to a wedding where they had lamb instead of chicken and people were upset (including my mom). she had the waiter bring her out chicken instead
