I just spoke to one of my friends from my old job. She had called over the weekend while I was away and left a message that I just got this morning. I called her back before and she said that she had called because she wanted to know when my wedding is, because she wanted to make sure that she made arrangements for someone to watch her son. How do I tell her that she isn't on the list? She was on the original list, but we had to cut back on our numbers and she is now on the 'B' list. Thanks for letting me vent.

Re: What would you do?
ugh. well what did you tell her on the phone when she asked?
sometimes in these cases, honestys the best policy. it also depends on how close you two are.

I actually didn't get a chance to respond because she was at work and had to go, but she is calling me tonight. We were close, but have kind of drifted apart.

Just be honest and say you are keeping it small. Good luck!

I agree-this is the easiest way to tell her. Tell her that numbers just werent on your side and had to cut back. Im sure if she is married she will understand

I have to agree with both ladies...be honest and let her know that you had to limit the invites

Be honest, I know its hard, but in life I believe honesty is the best policy. Just be very very careful about the way you say it to her........Hopefully she will understand, Im sure she will.......Good luck and please keep us posted.

I agree with this. What is it with people who just make assumptions that they are being invited to an event. Absolutely clueless.

Re: What would you do?
Just be honest!!! I was not invited to a friends wedding last year and didn't get upset. She only had 100 people (immediate family and best freinds. I was not upset!!!! Can't be

that really stinks. I feel for you. I do agree that being honest is the best thing..but too bad you couldn't write it in an email.

Definitely use the honesty card - if you were close I'm sure she'll understand.

use the honesty card but give it a little twist! tell her your FH cut your numbers and that it's all his fault! no, i'm kidding, honesty is the best policy hope it works out!

LOL- blame it on FH, that's an idea
Seriously, I will be honest with her. You are all right when you say that honesty is the best policy.
