At my previous job, I've had my medical insurance paid for 100% and I'd have to pay like $10/paycheck for dental & vision.
At my new job, the medical is $140/month and vision & dental is another $50/month (for a single person).
FH's job - he pays $7/month for medical and like $3/month for vision & dental but I can't be added to his policy as a domestic partner (we live together and have a joint bank account).
Would you get married now just to save on the insurance costs??
I don't know what to do - part of me is like 'whatev no big deal' but the other part wants to be traditional and get married in the church for real.
I don't even know if I can get married in the church if we already get married at city hall!

i would just wait! you will only have to pay 5 months into it so it's not that bad. i have to pay $125 a month for mine and it's taken out before they pay you so you don't even miss the money bc it's never really there anyway.

i mean some ppl might suggest you dont get insurance at all.. but what if you need it? god forbids theres an emergency
idk..what if you talk to your church ? explain the situation? i'm sure they will understand. then get married at city hall now and go on his plan

Are you sure there is no way you can be added to FH's plan? I was able to add FH to mine when he had a 'loss of coverage' because he had to take a leave of absence to finish school - we had to prove domestic partnership and that he had lost his coverage withink the past 30 days or something.

u can speak to ur church, see if they will allow u to go ahead get married and still have a ceremony..
if not, can u be without insurance for a few months? cuz thats ur only option other than to pay for it thru ur job.

I wuld look into trying to have him add you again. Sometimes all you have to do is call and they may make an exception (fingers crossed). If not, I would say pay for it for the 5 months...

i would just get it through your job now and than be added to his plan once you are married. can you skip on the dental? i dont believe the church will marry you.
