What would you do?

What would you do?

So I am in another wedding at the end of October for one of my best friends. We have been friends since Kindergarten, and for an old lady like me, that is a long time... I have been friends with him longer than some of you spring chickens have been alive (25 years). So his fiance who I have also become friends with over the years emailed me today and asked me if I would be getting ready with the guys or the girls. She said she doesn't care either way she just wants to make sure there is transportation on the day of etc etc... During the ceremony I will be standing on his side with the rest of the guys I have been friends with for years and years soooo do I get ready with them or do I hang out with his fiance and the girls?

hmm thats tough......i would probably tell them its up to them to decide.

but if they really leave it up to you....what do u feel more comfortable with? I mean you are better frieds with him so i can see getting ready with him...but would it make more sense to be with girls than a bunch of guys while u are getting dressed?

sorry im not really giving you an answer...its tough. just do what you feel most comfortable with.

If you're in the wedding, you should be getting to know the bride somewhat and the other BMs, enough that it would be comfortable for you to get ready with the girls, no? Does she not want all of the girls together?

I say get ready with the guys... I mean you've been friends for all these years and you're standing with them... and if she's not bothered by it, that's def a good thing. Only if you're comfortable with it though.

I do know her and her BMs. They have been together for like 6 or 7 years. It's not about not being comfortable with them I see it as more of being with my friend of 25 years to support him on his wedding day. Technically I am a Groomswoman and not a Bridesmaid. I am wearing a black dress and I will be standing with the guys during the ceremony, so she really doesn't care if I'm with her or not (I think)... and she asked what I would prefer I just don't know if it's weird that I choose my friend (the guy) over his FW since we're both female... I like them both very much (obviously) but I guess my questions is whether or not she's actually OK with it or just giving me the option to be nice....

Does any of that make sense????

It's not like I'll be changing in front of them or anything, they have a pretty big house... I'm just worried she's giving me the option just to be nice.

Perfect sense! Sounds like she's giving you the option to be nice, which is great, she doesn't mind! I say stand by your friend in that case. What does he want? He probably doesn't care..

If you are OK with both options, I would say you should let the bride decide. Tell her that its her day and whatever she wants you will do. That way you don't have to wonder if she is playing games.

He wants me to get ready with the guys. I guess I'll just do that... that way it was his choice and I can't get in trouble that way And now I should make him get ready at my house and sit there the entire time I'm getting my hair and makeup done LOL!!!!
