I am getting married during the Hurricane season so we are limited where we can go for my Honeymoon. We were going to do Antigua but we are want things to do at night (we are night owl's) and the resort there is just too small and not much to do. Here's my problem... My FH was married before and they went to Aruba on their Honeymoon. I was dead set on NOT going there because of that.. but the more I think of it and the more FH tells me everything that we can do there and no worries of a hurricane.. I almost want to go.. What would you do?? Would you go to Aruba or find somewhere else???
I just want to also mention that we want night life .. my FH wants to Gamble a little at night so we want to find a place that has casinos! I also want to mention I am in the travel bizz so I need to find something that has travel agent rates! I am so stuck right now!

I totally understand how you feel!!! I am also prejudiced to Aruba cause FH and I have been there four times we love it. It is really a beautiful island.
There are so many beautiful hotels there if you are considering Aruba stay at a different hotel, and honestly they have built it up so much in the past few years that there is so much more to do now.
What about Curaco(?) it is right next to Aruba and out of the hurricane belt. I personally have never been there, but it might be worth checking out.
Also if you have any questions about Aruba FM because we stayed at three different hotels there.

ONE MORE THING! I am in the travel industry!! And every single leisure agent here says to go to Aruba cause of everything we want to do. I can be the better person and put that past me that he did go there with her. But it's a little hard.. We wanted Sandals for Sol Melia hotels cause I can go there for dirt cheap! My whole honeymoon in Antigua at Sandals would have been 1500.00 probably!!!

Are you looking for a resort that has nightlife? Or staying somewhere you could head to a city with clubs and stuff?
If you are looking at resorts, the resorts in the Dominican Republic seem to always be hopping at night.. alot of the staff at the resorts seem to not let the nightlife die... plus TAs claim DR is out of the hurricane belt.
It is sooo affordable there because its not as popular but its so beautiful.
Plus, most of the resorts have a casino!

Would you consider doing europe, maybe greece or do more than one place in europe for example: greece, italy and spain...There are also cruises that do this if you are interested.
I've been to bermuda and loved it.
Virgin islands, maybe st. thomas.
Cabo is supposed to have a great night life.
Hawaii there is alot to do.
Tahiti, well the honeymoon planner told me there really is not much of a nightlife so if we were looking for that not to bother.

Although Mexico doesn't get hit as often as the Caribbean you have to be really careful with Mexico also. They got hit so bad by hurricanes in 2005. Alot of resorts just finished construction due to hurricane damage.

According to this website the islands LEAST likely to be hit during the hurricane season are: Curacao, Florida Keys, Bonaire, Grand Cayman, Barbados, and Aruba

What about PR? I do not know if it is affected by the hurracaines, it possible is or bermuda. I now theres gambiling in PR. Hope this helps you. I do not think bermuda is part of the hurracaine thing.
Even though it hurracaine season, we are going to go to Mexico, we have a time share there that we have not stayed and its beautiful. I have been on vacation during Hurracaine season and have been lucky, hopefully we will be lucky again.

i just read all the other responses you left...I saw Mrsdanierellas response to me first so just answered that.
After everything you mentioned then definitely look into cabo, great nightlife and lots to do and I don't think its expensive.

You said you would love to go to the bahamas...try looking at all inclusive packages breezes has they have good ones sometimes...Also try the sandals i guess.

I would LOVE to do Bahamas!! That is my second choice. I really need to see when Hurricans have hit down there in the past!
In all honesty, I am getting married in the Bahamas the day after your wedding. They say hurricane season isn't that bad then. Trust me when I say I have been there the first week in October when people have 'warned' us about goin...and it rained two times...and it was while we were sleeping.

My FH and I are waiting until December to have our HM in Disney, because we're avoiding Hurrican season and the weather is nicer. Might be an idea?? Gives you extra time to save money too. I know it's exciting right after the wedding, but I'd rather not take the chance of a hurrican either. Maybe you can even consider Tahiti or Bora Bora, I could be wrong, but I don't think they get many storms?? Maybe check that out. Hope it all works out!!
