I am getting married during the Hurricane season so we are limited where we can go for my Honeymoon. We were going to do Antigua but we are want things to do at night (we are night owl's) and the resort there is just too small and not much to do. Here's my problem... My FH was married before and they went to Aruba on their Honeymoon. I was dead set on NOT going there because of that.. but the more I think of it and the more FH tells me everything that we can do there and no worries of a hurricane.. I almost want to go.. What would you do?? Would you go to Aruba or find somewhere else???
I just want to also mention that we want night life .. my FH wants to Gamble a little at night so we want to find a place that has casinos! I also want to mention I am in the travel bizz so I need to find something that has travel agent rates! I am so stuck right now!

Yes, insurance is a must!! I had a friend who got married, and because her FH had mono the day of their wedding, they couldn't go on their HM. Thank God they had insurance, because they rebooked and went a few months later!

I think we may just do the Bahamas.. hey at least if it rains a little.. I have the excuse of just laying around in our room snuggling all day a day or 2 on our honeymoon! LOL! Thanks girls for all your imput!
When i went it rained as soon as i got there, it poured for like 15 mins and then right after it was sooo sunny and beautiful and people went right into the pool. If you need any info about the bahamas FM me. But yeah def get the insurance, you never know. The casinos there are great too, you would have a great time.

I wouldnt be able to go to the same place if FH had been there before with a signifcant other, IMO. Maybe you should go to a travel agent and see what they suggest for August. Good luck hon

are you interested in a cruise? it would bother me too to know my FI went on his honeymoon the same place we would go. im doing a cruise around the southern caribbean. FM me if u want more info. but im big into the nightlife too...and this ship seems to have it.
I agree. This is what we're doing. Also, dont worry about hurricaine season -- i've almost alwasy taken my vacations during hurriciane season and never had bad weather...not once!

Are you dead set on doing the caribbean? What about Monte Carlo or Nice, France? Nice has a ton of gambling and is only like a 30 minute ride to Monte Carlo. There's also nightlife there as well. The French Riviera has a lot to do...you can travel to St. Tropez and Cannes as well. You might be able to get a nice TA discount there too. I know you said Tahiti was too $$, so staying in Monaco would probably be out of the question but I know you can get good deals along the coastline in France.

I'm in the hurricane season too, but I haven't done much HM research yet.....I've heard good things about Belize & Costa Rica- I need to find out which one has better night life, since I want that too!!!
Now I want to research Cabo......thanks for posting this, it's helping me out too!!

i just read all the other responses you left...I saw Mrsdanierellas response to me first so just answered that.
After everything you mentioned then definitely look into cabo, great nightlife and lots to do and I don't think its expensive.

what about going to one of the other islands under the hurricane belts. i can't think of them now, but it is abc. also if you can't get to a casino from the other islands you could hop a plane to another island. ok looked it up. aruba, bonaire and curaco. they have ferries and planes that leave out of there quite often.
