What's cocktail attire?
I am going to a wedding on a farm in Vermont. It says Cocktail Attire. What does that mean?

i went to a wedding at a b&b in vermont- i for ladies, most, if not all, wore a short dress.
i wore a light green stretch halter dress with a pashmina.
it seemed to go with the style and i felt comfortable.
a strapless dress- say, one from j. crew or something, would go just fine too

I'm guessing nice pants and a sports coat would be okay for men.

yeah, i think a simple suit for the men or sportscoat.
