What's SHE doing with HIM??

I don't know if I am MAD... or PROUD... or INSULTED... or just plain SHOCKED! I think mostly I am amused that people can be so rude.

Let's go back a bit...Rob looks young. He isn't so much - he's 35. But he looks like he is in his 20's when he is dressed down. I am not looking my best these days. In fact - I am looking downright like H E L L. I finally came off the steroids and other meds in February - but I haven't been able to lose so much as even 5 lbs!!! The doctor said it would come right off once I stopped the meds... I think he may have lied. My face is puffy and distorted, my body is swollen and I am looking like the cousin to a beached whale. My self confidence has been totally shattered in the last 2 years. Getting married without looking the way I always hoped is a REAL test for me.

So the other day we were in Friendly's with the boys getting them ice cream as a treat for a job well done. I heard a girl say *sotto voce* - 'How does something like THAT get a guy like THAT?' I heard the other one say 'They aren't together - there is no way he would be with HER.'

I am not a paranoid person - and normally I wouldn't have thought they were talking about me, but my son said 'Mommy, why are those girls pointing at us?' I turned around and they kind of looked down, smiling and talking to each other.

So I looked at Rob to see if they heard them. And THIS is why I love him:

He said - LOUDLY - 'You can't think they are talking about YOU. You are beautiful. Besides.. don't they prove that you don't have to gain weight to be totally ugly?'

Then he kissed me. And I felt better.

But I STILL think I might be a little f*cking pissed off.

I'm sorry your feelings were hurt, but I promise you that on your wedding day you will look and feel ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS.

OMG.... were they 'young' girls? Some of them are totally out of reality with what is appropriate to say or not. There is a difference between 'thinking' and speaking out loud about someone in a restaurant.

My hat to your man for sticking by you and make them feel like little pieces of $hit.

Some people are just so insensative sometimes. They obviously have NO IDEA what someone who is or has been on steroids looks like. People just SUUCK sometimes!

I'm so sorry you had to feel ashamed for even a moment! They will get theirs. I heart Karma!

Your FH is an amazing man and obviously quite worthy of your beauty!

I am so impressed that you are getting married when you are. I will send positive energy your way in hopes that the puffy after effect of your crappy meds goes away and you look the way you dream of on your wedding day!

Either way, it will be beautiful and you will be gorgeous!

Were they waitresses? Go back, request their table, and stiff them on the tip. Or write them a tip- 'Don't talk sh!t about people that have vendictive friends with good ideas'.

That's a prime example of someone who knows exactly what to say at exactly the right time. Bravo to DH.

You really need to ask yourself this: what is the opinion of two ignorant b*tches worth to you? It should be worth nothing. They can go shove thier jealousy and shallowness where the sun don't shine.

You keep doing your best, on your own terms and not because of stupid b*tches like that. Just remember, with attitudes like that, they will never be able to get or keep a great (and good looking) man like yours.

I had someone (who I could swear was an ex of DHs but I will never know for sure) SCREAM out a car window at DH & me once 'nice ugly girlfriend!' It was in college and my self-esteem was probably the lowest it's ever been..I don't know if I've ever told anyone about it b/c it really upset me. But since then, I've learned that young girls can be stupid jealous biatches and to ignore them. People suck...ignore the stupid ones and surround yourself with the good ones (which you have obviously already done!)

I would have freaked out if I thought they were talking about me. Your beautiful and don't let anyone ever upset you with silly insults especially girls like that....

I had this happen to me...when I use to go visit FH at his job all the girls he worked with (well this one girl that had a thing for him) would always make a comment of how someone like me got him. Meaning me a 'white girl' get a fine Hispanic man ...some girls are just so jealous that they have to put others down to justify themselves..but like someone said I believe in Karma and it will sting!!!

with regard to the jealous biotches that made those comments about you...dont pay them any mind! cause he's all yours, and thats all that matters!!!!

wow...there's thinking something and then there's saying it out loud for all the world to hear. those clowns clearly weren't raised well enough to know better. that's the most sad part of all. [they remind me of the awful neighbors we finally got rid of...complete trash]

I haven't been on here in ages, so I have no clue why you have been medicated, but I am glad you are getting better and so very glad you seem to have a strong support system!
