Wow, it is really a little sad to me that a few really bad & irresponsible SUV and truck drivers would spark the desire to outlaw trucks. Maybe outlaw the drivers who lack of ability to operate one of these vehichles from owning them first....just an idea.
(No disrespect to those who hava had accidents and such, but I have been in an accident with a car that far outweiged my own & caused major damage, but I blamed the driver, not Ford.....)

i agree, its not the vehicle its the driver. i hate when i see women who are 5' and are driving Excursions and they can't see over the f'in steering wheel. i say, if you can't drive it, don't buy it.

No flaming here. I agree. There was a discussion on Z100 a while back where they were saying that many people who own SUV's were bullied when they were in High school or at some important stage in their life and they simply couldn't get over it. So, they bought their SUV to, in a way, get their revenge and they use their CAR to bully other cars on the road, by tailgating and whatnot. I believe that this is true to a certain extent and it certainly proves that it's the person driving the car, not the car itself. Even if SUVs were ever outlawed, they'd just come up with some other type of car that's similar. People are going to cause accidents regardless of their type of car, there's always going to be punks that park in two + spaces, regardless of their type of car, and there's always going to be people driving cars that they really shouldn't, because they'd rather be cool-looking than safe, regardless of what type of car that may be.

No one needs a Hummer maybe cause LI is flat but an exursion is just a supersized exporer. Like a tahoe or surburban. I hate mini vans and I always said If I had a lot of children like 3 or more LOL I would get a tahoe or a suburban im not into being the soccer mom driving the mini van JUST ME THOUGH! I don't have a problem with SUV I do have a problem with SOME of the drivers though. You know the ones who can't handle the size of the car (I hate to say it but most are woman) or the ones who think they own the road (mostly men) Or the ones who think my 1994 Honda Civic 2 door is invisible and they should just drive over me.

I would make it illegal for people to do ****** covers of classic songs..
I have literally run screaming form stores when madonna's version of american pie comes on, and fred durst's Behind Blue Eyes is just a disgrace. It's really sad actualy, Roger Daltrey wrote the song when he was 12 years old, Fred Durst is a full grown adult effing it up and completely missing the meaning.

I also wonder why people want a huge suv when gas is so freakin expensive. And it's partially due to them!
gas prices are NOT high because of thre suv....it's also a right to drive one ...its partly our fault that the gas prices are as high as they are....if we used more of other fuels this would help also, but that being said if you want to drive one and have the means todo so then why not...

I dunno, my mother had four kids and drove a station wagon. She did just fine. Station wagons don't do the damage that SUV's do. I will always be a sedan driver anyway. Minivans are hilarious. Ever see a man driving one looking miserable as all hell? It is like he has been stripped of all of his dignity.

gas supply is low, demand is high...
I didn't say it was BECAUSE of SUV's... but it IS one factor with our gas problems! and I never said suv's should be illegal, but there should be size restrictions.

that's interesting. I could see that, maybe with dogs & cats in particular, I don'tknwo about lizards & fish & things, They don't exactly have those at shelters. (as far as I know)

bring back the station wagon! I have actually seen some cute ones, i'd rather drive that than a mini van or suv. I am sorty though, I am used to being close to the ground.
SUV's dont'need to be outlawed, but I thnk there shodlbe restrictions, liek special drivers test, or speical lanes, or not allowed on soem roads & that is because many people don't handle then correctly & they make it difficult to see when you are in a tiny car.
They aren't inherently evil, just right place, right time, you know?

I'm a smoker and I LOVE that we can't smoke inside resturants/bars...I hated that you could smoke...having to go outside to light up makes me smoke alot less then if I could smoke isnide...yes I know I should just quit...but at least I'm not smoking a pack when I go out to bars/resturants now...I'm working on quitting...its easier SAID then done...
