What's the best meal you can cook?

Ours was a match made in heaven.
Jim’s parents both owned and cooked in restaurants. Jim’s Dad still does.
Jim’s father’s parents were both in-house cooks in the UK before coming to America.
Jim helped work at his parent’s restaurant in Long Island as far back as he could recall until they sold their place.

Me? Man I just love to eat! I come from a long long long line of heavy eaters. Yes that means heavy people too. Food is a way of life for us. You can be poor and pretty much on your last leg but you should at least eat well. Food is the last thing I give up when it’s a money issue. Dad knows when Im hurting for money if I am eating bread and butter. A good meal can go a long way.

Jim & I miss out on a lot of movies and special events and all we have to show for it is a night out at a restaurant we like and a very good meal and leave with a full tummy. That is heaven to us. We spend money on all SORTS of kitchen gadgets before we fix our cars. Nothing is more romantic for us than to talk out the day’s events while we work side by side in a kitchen sipping on glasses of cold wine. Then enjoying what we made for dinner. We prefer to end our meals with a nice cup of coffee and a small bit of dessert. THAT is living for us!

But of course!! You'd be surprised at how easy it is (believe me, I'm not a big cook at all..) If I can do it most anyoen can

I like to try a bunch of different things but right now the favorite is a toss up between Eggplant Rollatini and Creamy Tomato Basil Chicken...now I'm hungry.

My Lasagna, stuffed shells, meatballs are always a hit.

Last night I made a lemon chicken & potato....that is my new favorite

by the way its really the only thing that I can cook and feel comfortable serving to anyone outside my family...I am scared that I scare my friends away if I serve them anything else!

all of this food talk is making me hungry. Who is comming to my place to cook for me

mmmm..how do u make homemade apple sauce???!! would LOVE to do that!

FH loves this pasta sauce I make...

I make Alfredo Sauce and break up some whole peeled tomatoes into it...add some mushrooms that were sauteed in butter w/ a little crushed red pepper...and sometimes I add some shrimp...toss w/ pasta, we LOVE Malefede noodles! Yummy!!!

Ingredients
4 large green apples, peeled, cored and chopped
2 tablespoons butter
1/3 cup sugar
2 teaspoons grated lemon rind
1/4 cup water

Directions
In a heavy bottom sauce pan, add apples, butter, sugar, lemon rind and water. Cook over low heat stirring frequently, until apples are soft and mushy. Serve warm.

thats the recipe my father taught me but i play around with it and use apple juice instead of the water and add a lil cinnamon and a lil Tiny Bit of apple vodka yum. you can also use a combo of apples which i have tried. if they dont cook down small enough you can put them in a chopper and pulse slightly or a potato masher.
