What's the best time to ask your bridal party....

What's the best time to ask your bridal party....

...to be a part of your wedding? My wedding is next September so I would like to give them time to save for whatever they need to purchase.

Also - anyone doing it in a special way? I thought I'd get each one a special card and write a note asking them to be a part of my day. :)

I started asking right after I got engaged. I gave each girl a personalized cookie I have pics in my album

I also asked right after we got engaged and sent each one (OOT) a personalized 'will you be my bridesmaid' card. The one local BM got it in person.

They are in my folder on here if you want to see.

I did the same thing...gave each girl a personalized BM cookie and card

I did the same thing! I had a personalized cookie sent to each of them. I asked my BP right away. I got engaged in September and asked them in October.

Mine is in July and I asked them at the end of June. I gave them cards I ordered online that said 'Will you be my bridesmaid?' and a beach bag, since my wedding is in the summer and on the water!

I'm next September also, I asked them right after we booked and had our place, i gave them a DIY project frame with a pic of us and poem on the back, in my albums

My wedding is the end of next September and I haven't 'officially' asked my girls yet. I plan on making them a 'Will you be my bridesmaid' card and I may get them something else as well, but haven't figured it out yet. I hope to give them all their cards by the end of next month. HTH!

I would say that you should probably be sure that they all know by September .. give them about a year notice bc they need to budget in alot f expenses for the following year. Especially the girls with your bridal shower, bachelorette party, dresses. etc. I would ask as soon as you are 100% sure.. if you are ify about anyone then hold off for a few more months, but def by Christmas time.

I called each of them after we got engaged and just asked over the phone. I couldn't wait, I was just too excited..

i asked my moh immediately after i got engaged, actually when i told her that i got engaged. the rest of my bridal I asked at different times. for my two childhood friends (we've all known each other since kindergarten), i sent them flowers with a really heartfelt card and asked them that way.

I got engaged July 2010 and asked my bridal party right after we got engaged. And I also did it individually, not anything creative.

My MOH has known that she was going to be my MOH forever.. I don't even remember asking her. I asked each of my BMs individually.. two of them I asked the first time I saw them after getting engaged, and one I asked recently.
