Ball gown is the puffy skirt thatpoofs from the waist (cinderella type) and I thik princess type is another name for the A-line/empire dress

I believe a princess gown is similar to an A-line. A ballgown is fitted on the top and then puffs out at the waist and skirt.

I did a little research:

Princess - A dress style with a fitted bodice with gently flares to the skirt. Almost anyone can wear it well. It is also called an A-Line.

Ballgown - The typical wedding gown style (silhouette). It has a fitted bodice and waist and full skirt.

ballgowns are POOOFY
serious poofness going on. I tried one on...
I looked in the mirror and wondered where I went!!!
hehe Im not tall and all that poofy made me look short and fat! I started to laugh and do the hum the yellow brink road song.. and bob up and down

All the ladies in the area and the other seamstresses giggled.. my lady just said 'I'll take that as a no' hehe

Princess I think is just like an A-line but a bit more poofy.. nothing as dramatic as a ball gown.
