what's the one thing no one told you about....

being married, that you learned the hard way??

for me: no one warned me of all the paperwork that goes into becoming someone's wife

I still haven't done my license and my ss card, but I am still someone's wife.

Changing my name for sure! I must've made 20 phone calls.... I never realized how many things there was to take care of!

ME too. All the paperwork goes into changing your name, if you choose to do that, not becoming a wife.

Ah, I guess I misunderstood, I thought it was more the process, the 'steps' you must take after you are married. There are a ton of things I am sure I will learn the hard way. Mostly, it's how to communicate openly and realize things and money are now 'ours' and not mine or his. Sometimes I still call 'our' house 'his' house (and I've lived there over a year),. I've just always been very financially independent, so it will be new for me. I even found myself dividing up Christmas gift shopping to 'my' family and 'his' family.
