whats up with finger nails?

whats up with finger nails?

Idk what to do

I got UV gel nails (french) about a week ago cause I wanna try out what I'm going to have for the big day. Well they are terrible within 2 days I had to go have them totally redone cause they cracked, lifted split etc and one just flaked right off completely. They are supposed to be better than acrylics for you but I don't know...

What kind of nails should I get. I like these but its not the worth the price IMO if its going to last just as long as a regular manicure.

What other options is there?

Honestly if you can, I'd grow your nails naturally. That's what I plan on doing...I find fake nails to be uncomfortable.

They were just UV gel over the natural nails cause I didn't want tips or anything but I want something thats going to last through the honey moon...

When i used to get my nails done (cant afford it now) I used to get a powder mix with a liquid- not sure what it was called. But they always lasted. I couldnt get acrylic because I was allergic to it ( I would get blisters around my nails) Ask them about the powder.

That's really weird. I've been getting silk wraps for years and love them. I hated the acrylic because it would always get nasty by the two week point, cracking and stuff. Don't have that issue with the silk wrap.

One of my sisters is a nail tech, so I don't have to pay. Even though my nails grow on their own and I usualy just get manicures, when I get acrylic tips for anything, she does them and fills them in whenever I want so they don't get nasty.

I just get regular manicures, but one time I did a gel manicure to make my nails stronger and it totally ruined my nails. the samething happened to me they started to crack and chip on the sides of the nails.

i find if i get a manicure every week or even if i do it every week my nails stay much stronger.... i guess its just having the layers of polish on them that protects them and keeps them strong.

I did silk wraps for the 2 months leading up to the wedding day and they were great and the french manicure I got on the silk wraps lasted from Thursday before the wedding until 2 weeks later through the HM.

Took FOREVER to grow out and my nails have been brittle and nasty ever since. I tried acrylics at one point but they were even worse! They're finally back to normal (and, I'm back to biting them, unfortunately) and it's 5 months since our wedding.

But I highly recommend silk wraps. They're not too crazy to upkeep for a few months before the wedding.

I have acrylics I hate UV gel and I hate silk wrap. Neither stay. I dont have tips anymore my girl if my nails break she can make a new nail from the acrylic. So I basically have the acrylic right over my natural nail.

wow, the place u got the UV gel must not have known what they were doing.

I used to do UV gel alll the time, but stopped cause it was too expensive. For me I had the opposite experience, they looked great for a good 2 weeks and never broke!

now I do silk wrap( but no extension- just on my own nail) I like the silk wrap better because its less damage.

You can also ask for acrylic with no tip- they will just put the powder and gel on your nail. your nails will grow eventually and you wont need to add an acrylic tip. -- I had this before silk wrap and it looked nice and help up well

I personally find with tips, they lift and you need to replace them within a month.

I used to wear acrylic over my nails but now I have the UV gel over my nails. I have never had a problem with lifting with either method. Maybe the person that did your nails didn't know what they were doing?

I'd go for wraps. It's not AS bad as acrylic but it's not the best thing you can do to your nails either.

LCN is the greatest, looks gorgeous and lasts weeks.

OMG I have no idea what I'm going to do - I usually get a regular manicure every week but I keep my nails REALLY short.

I might get tips? Hopefully they won't destroy my nails!

try growing out your real nails and then get that permanent nail polish stuff they have out now so it stays longer than regular nail polish!
