What's With People?

Ladies are you having the same issues?

We invited 230 people, and are ending up with 155. I wanted to have around 180, because we have a big room.

A ton of people aren't coming because flights are expensive (we sent the STD a year in advanced). Now granted I know some people can't afford the trip...

but then there are people who live close by, and have tons of excuses. A family reunion, meeting the boyfriends parents, an elective surgery the day before (they've had months to have it taken care of).

ugh sorry. I just need to vent. I am putting in so much effort in this wedding and people don't think its important to be there. :( :( it really shows who actually cares to make the effort.

Thanks ladies... it does make me feel better to know I am not the only one! And I know the most important people will be there, but I can't help but be upset at the ones I thought wouldn't miss it for the world and now are...

Yeah. I am experiencing the same exact thing. In fact I have posted about it a few times. It's very hurtful. I find ti especially hurtful since we've been engaged for over 7 years, we had to cancel our wedding once and we've been through a LOT during our engagement. I thought people would be more supportive. For the most part mY family is very supportive, FH's family not so much.

We initially invited 276 people I was so worried our list was out of control and we'd be way over what we could afford. Now we have such low interest I feel from Doug's family and from friends that I am sending out more invitations today and our list is up to 300!!! That's just to meet our 170 minimum.

It makes me so sad!

I told Doug I now know who is/is not invited to the christenings!

wow ' meeting the boyfriends parents' thats the worst!!! i see how your upset and totally agree but dont let it get you down just think of it as - now you will have the people who really count and REALLY wanna be there for you so it will just be better off with out those poeple that.

So true about the Christenings! Theyd probably find another excuse for that so why bother! Ugh people!

I think the worst on the list is meeting the bf's parents & the elective surgery! You sent out a STD so they had the heads up. I'm dreading the no's we get & hoping most come back with a yes so we don't go under our minimum my FMIL is already telling me take this person off & take that one too ..Sorry your gonig thru this!!
