What's with people and their unsolicited opinions

So I am talking to my MOH and I say 'I saw so and so last night and they are using the same precussionist that we are for our wedding.' This persons wedding is next month. She says 'I don;t understand what is a precussionist? What do they do' After I explain it to her she say 'it's a waste of money IMO' Okfine but I didn't ask for your opinion. I'm not really mad at her but honestly why give your opinion on something like this.

FH and I have decided not to tell people we have hired a DOC. I could only imagine what people will say then??? It's reasons like this I'd rather just keep all the details to ourselves and let everyone be surprised the day of.

Thanks for listening to my vent!

i don't think people realize what they are saying. when you discuss your wedding, you are not looking for input, but people see it that way.

everyone has an opinion on everything you do, just don't let them get to you. the best advice i can give, is when someone offers you something, say no. don't say, i'll think about it, or thats a good idea, just say no. i did this to my fmil b/c she was incessed on having my fh's cousins wife (dont' ask) in my bp, on my side. only b/c he nephew was in the bp, she wanted his wife in it too...she would bring it up every time we talked about the bp. and i told her no every single time.

but don't not discuss your plans, just don't let people bully you

There is always going to be someone who is going to have an opinion, in my case its a been a handful of 'someones' which is an annoyance...ignore it! Who cares, if you dont feel its a waste of money then thats all that matters!

Sometimes I think that people really don't think about what they are going to say before they say it, and if they do and their opinions are such then they are a total biatch!!

One thing I have learned in the wedding planning circle (I'm doing it for the second time) is that everyone thinks they know the best thing to do.....Sometimes your better off not saying anythng, I know how you feel.
I'm noticing it more with my friends who were brides long ago, I'm not sure if its an envy thing or not. Everything out of the ordinary is 'a waste of money' Don't they remember? This is not my first time!!! I want the cigar roller but I can ony imagine the comments over that one!!! I decided not to tell anyone, let it be a surprise.
