What's your favorite pasta shape?

Original post by Jax430

Random question, I know...

I love medium shells...for some reason this has been my favorite shape since I was a kid..my friend and i used to put them on our noses (without sauce, of course!). We also used to float them in our soda and drink from them..gross!!

Anyhow, I made shells for dinner tonight, and asked Brad his favorite shape. He doesn't have one! Do you?

and i actually feel that the different types of pasta actually taste differently

It only tastes different to me when the sauce is different

well that was a given...
i think it is more of a mental thing for me

I HATE elbow and angel hair and feel they taste bad...but i know they really don't taste differently

So I take it you don't like Mac n Cheese

when my mom makes it...but not usually

Different shapes for different foods...

For macaroni and Peas, it's small shells

for macaroni and beans (pasta fagioli) it's ditalini (little tubes)

If I'm making pasta with my chili, or macaroni and cheese, it's elbows

for pasta salad, it's bowties

for chicken soup, it's orzo

for if it's clam sauce or marinara, then it's angel hair or linguine

For regular pasta with meat sauce it's ziti or rotelli

And I love pastina cooked in a little chicken broth IT's basically baby food

They pretty much don't even have shapes in London!!! Just the real basics like ziti and spaghetti
