What's your favorite thing...

...about your RH?


Aside from the incredible food and service at the Garden City Hotel, along with the gorgeous ambiance, I'd have to say that my favorite thing about the GCH is its rich and amazing history. Knowing that families like the Vanderbilts, Astors, Belmonts, Kennedys and Clintons have stayed here, and other famous people and politicians such as Andrea Bocelli, Sarah Jessica Parker, Rudy Giugliani and Gov. Pataki have gone to events here, means so much to me. The fact that Margaret Thatcher felt that this hotel was worthy of her staying here is humbling; and to know that Charles Lindbergh himself stayed here the night before his famous flight to Europe gives me butterflies. And although I am not an Obama fan, and was not an Obama supporter prior to the election, it is extraordinarily exciting to know that the New York State Democratic party took place at the GCH less than a year before our first black president was elected to office... and knowing that Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden and John Edwards were all here plugging for themselves at the upcoming election makes me feel so proud.

I do not mean to brag at all - I am just amazed by the history of this place and I cannot wait to become a part of it.

I know it sounds ridiculous, but I'm very picky about bathrooms. I was floored when I saw the bathrooms at NRC. They were spotless, pristine, and gorgeous.

Ahhhhhhhhh I totally know what you're talking about regarding bathrooms!!! I love the bathrooms at the GCH - they're gorgeous, immaculate, and each stall has a door that goes from the ceiling to the floor so it is really private for each person using the facilities.

Ohhhh yeahhh I forgot the bridal suite!! They throw in the penthouse suite for the night of the wedding and I'm obsessed with it... living room, separate bedroom, two balconies, kitchen, bathroom, chocolate covered strawberries, champagne, rose petal presentation on the bed, yeyyyyyy!!!!

I'm glad you all love your RHs... it is sooo important!!

The food...the CH room...the people..the DOME..the overall feel.

The Gnocci!!! (oh aside from food?)

-1 Wedding at a time
-I have the whole building to myself
-I LOVE the ballroom and the set up (apparently finding a place with round tables, dance floor in the middle, high ceilings, and pretty lights was hard to find lol)
-The fact that a lot of people i know have never been there before
-The fact that i have NEVER worked there!!!!
(now knowing my luck i'll be working there a lot from now until my wedding date lol)
- The drive up. I like that it's not on a main road and i dont have to hear cars beeping during cocktail (although i might have booked N.Ritz if they were available on my date lol)

I love the lake, the look and feel of the rooms (love the brick, fire place, and huge windows), the food and our BM

edited: forgot to add a major thing i love...the grounds! the winding road the leads to the mansion and then the golf course that it is on is beautiful!

I love the Dome Room at JT. So pretty.

i love the ch room-it has plush blue velvet booths with a wrap around bar

.. the service, the staff, the reputation, FOOD, FOOD, FOOD!!..

EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!

1 wedding at a time, the trees and flowers INSIDE in the CH room, the humongous Bridal suites, the Gazebo, the 2 ponds, the vineyard, the small gazebo with the twinkle lights, the tulle and twinkle lights in the reception room on the ceiling, oh wait..did i mention the outside inside feel for CH? !

i freakin love this place!

ITA- the outdoor cocktail area, the gardens. even the bathroom in the bridal suite is awesome. the entire staff has been amazing.
