Catholic but I am converting to Lutheran

DH and I are Roman Catholic. I voted, but I don't think that I would lump all Christians into one category. To me, my religion is very different from Protestants and Born Again Christians.
I am not offended or anything, just wanted to point that out. To me that is like having a cateogry for people who don't believe in Jesus and then lumping Jewish, Buddist and Hindu into that category.
Maybe I am just sensitive to distancing myself from the word 'Christian' by itself because I don't want to be confused with the Religious Right.
ETA: I am Catholic, both in how I was raised and what I believe today.
