I voted 'agnostic' but I'm really not sure. Atheist maybe.

I'm skeptical about religion, basically because it seems to cause/lead to so much strife between people (from violent strife to arguing on... say... websites). I know that faith means a lot to many people, but it seems like faith is most beneficial when its personal, or shared with a family or congregation (as opposed to when it enters into societal institutions -- that's when the trouble seems to begin).

I like your answer...

We are both agnostic, but will raise our children Roman Catholic and let them choose after confirmation. My mother is a Buddhist and this is what she did for my sister and I.

My mother was pedicostal devout (sp).. made me go to those classes and memorize verses and hammered me with the ideas she thought were sinful.. (ie, makeup, false idols, showing of flesh). I was terrified. Holy revivals, speaking in tongues..etc.

My father was Catholic and sent us once to a Catholic school.. the rebound I got on Sunday was really bad.

I later experimented with religion. After I completed my 7 discussions of Mormonism I decided I was through.

I am now Agnostic.

Our children will go to church but under monitoring. They will get to choose.
