I don't plan on going until about 6-8 months before the wedding...which I thought was typical timing.
I'm going to start looking in the fall too. I figure i want to see what the new designs are! Also, i want to figure out what my dress looks like & decide on the colors and work from there.

I started looking minus the BM's to narrow down the search for dresses. I plan on picking up the pace in the summer.
my MOH and I are already scouting out ideas but i'm hoping to go and start trying things on and picking things out at the one year mark (in may). i think you should call the shots when it comes to the BM dresses. some flexibility is always good but if you want to start shopping for the dress i think it would be fine to for you to put your foot down a bit.
You can pick out the dress you want but just have them order it whenever they want...that way you can figure out your color scheme without pressuring them.
I already know which dress the girls are wearing and they all agreed that they like it. I say we will try them on this June.
