How soon after the reception are you leaving for your HM? I'm wondering how much time we need. Is there any reason to wait more than one day? Are you leaving in the morning, at night?

We haven't even planned ours yet but I know I want the day after to relax before leaving for HM.

we're getting married in apri on a sturday, going to go away for a few days on monday and then in july taking a real honeymoon

We were married on Friday and left on Sunday. I HIGHLY suggest leaving yourself at least a day to unwind and get ready for your HM. We were happy we did b/c my family was here (brothers and SILs) who live far away so we got to spend an extra day with them. You also bring home soooooo much extra stuff from the ceremony and reception and your house will be a WRECK!!! it gave me a chance to straighten things before we left.
My GF left the morning after and regretted it. Her and her new hubby had a HUGE fight and everything was so rushed.

We're getting married on Saturday and leaving Monday morning after we hit the bank. We want to deposit any checks we get because we will be away for three weeks and don't want to hold anyone up. Plus, I want to spend Sunday with my OOT guests that will be leaving.

We are getting married on Sat night but we aren't leaving until sunday - We are only going for a few days since FH has be back in school May 2 - then we will go on the real part of our honeymoon (cruise) in August during his break between semesters

we're getting married the 25th of April and leaving the morning of the 27th - I need that day to organize and unwind from the wedding and I also want to be able to spend time with my son before we go away.

WE HAVE NOT PLANNED YET EITHER, BUT WE ARE GETTING MARRIED ON A FIDAY AND I WOULD LIKE TO LEAVE THAT SUNDAY MORNING.

We didnt book our honeymoon yet, but our reception is from 6:30-12:30...believe it or not, we want to get a flight bw 6/8 am. We are planning on not sleeping until we get on the plane.

Togetherforever- my friend did that we hung out withthem for a while, to help thems tay up, then car service came at liek 4 30 or something. It got a little complicated makignsure there luggage got to the reception from there 2 separate homes, and then fromthereception to the hotel we all went to after. Just make sure you have soemone to help you with all that.
Jimmy's Bride- I'm geting married the same day as you, and we haven't booked yet. Since that's Columbus day weekend, I might wait till the Monday or tTuesday, depending on how long my MOH is staying sine she is from San Diego & I haven't seen her since August 02.
If you're not having any OOT guests, I'd say leave late Sunday or early Monday, to gibe yourself a little time to pack, & double check that you have everything.

tourist....thanks for the advice!! We are planning on coming to my house first, taking showers, then getting a ride to the airport. IF POSSIBLE! !
