we started looking and the guy at the store told us to come back in like Jan to figure out what he wanted..

So here is my theory-- he should start looking the month your dress is coming in- and he should start his fittings when you are having yours..

We went a month before the wedding - so I would say 1 or 2 months before.

They told him to come in with all his guys 4 months before and pick out what they are getting, then a month or two before to come in to order it.

FH went in September, it wasn't something we did too early. We went to VIP tuxedos and they recommended a month or so before.

DH went and looked at tuxes, and put in the order a few months beforehand (probably 3 months) .. At which time he told his guys and the dads what the style number was, etc.

But everyone didn't need to be measured and/or leave their deposit until one month b/f our wedding date.

But I say, its never too soon to do ANYTHING wedding-related (we were slackers in every regard )
