FH and I are doing the rehearsal dinner. When should we start looking for restaurants? Any suggestions in the the commack/smithtown/huntington area??

I am getting married in July and booked mine in at the end of January or beginning of this month... cannot remember.. We started looking at places of Christmas break

I'm gonna book mine in April or so. I think 6 months is a good grace period of time

We already booked ours, only because our rehearsal dinner is the night before Thanksgiving. We were afraid places would book up fast. I would suggest about 6 months out or so.
Bella Vita in St. James Garden Grill in Smithtown Ciao Baby in Commack are all very good.

I'm planning on booking mine this week. I would have done it today, but due to the snow FH & I did not go out for Valentine's Day as planned.

I believe I booked mine in about Sept/Oct for an April wedding. I knew exactly where I wanted it- so I saw no reason to wait and risk availability.

I suggest Mateos in huntington on Jericho Tpke. Been to the one in Roslyn area LOVE IT!

I think it would depend on how many people you're having... My MIL planned our rehearsal dinner months in advance, but we had 40 people. If you have a smaller dinner you could of course do it much later on...

Everything is still a disaster. BG really wants a rehearsal dinner. There are 5 people in each of our wedding parties. so that is ten people, then us, my parents (2), his parents (3), and his three neices and the ringbearer. So that is a total of 21 people. he might want to invite grandparents although I would rather keep it small. And depending on costs, we would invite out of towners. At most that would be another 15 people but i highly doubt there will be more than 10. I don't even know how to go about finding out which restaurants have private rooms. Bear in mind, we are doing this ourselves due to the fact that his mom spends all her money on his birthday and xmas gifts and has nothing left when it comes to us (oooh was that sarcasm??)

So, I call the place I want to book for my RD to see if the date is still available, and the catering manager tells me I'm already written in the book for that night! Now, when on earth did I do that?? I know I didn't leave a deposit!! Gotta love my baby brother. One little phone call, and he's the model of efficiency!!

We booked ours for September 2 weeks ago because the restaurant we choose in Setauket is rather busy on the weekends.

I have my date on hold for next January at the place I want the RD to be at. They said we can do the deposit and all that jazz in September.
