I am trying to figure out how to fit this in my day. Do you work out before or after work. Or at lunch? Or after dinner?
And does the time of day depend on if you are going to the gym, doing something outside or doing something in your home?

Re: When do you work out (if you do at all)
I try to work out in the morning. It's most effective to work out on an empty stomach and then I feel like I've actually accomplished something before I get to work. But, I don't have to be at work until 10 and I don't have a very long commute.
When I don't make it in the morning, I try to go at lunch time.
In the evening when I get home, but before dinner is my last resort.

I've been working out after dinner with dh...I don't feel rushed after work..
I tried going during work and in the mornings and I just feel rushed all the time..

Re: When do you work out (if you do at all)
When I had a more flexible lunch hour (in particular at my old firm), I would always go at lunchtime ... I went with a few friends and we took classes and kept each other motivated to go , which for me is key
Before the wedding, I was going immediately after I got home from work every night.. before dinner. We have a gym right in our building which has the basics (treadmills, bikes, nautlius equipmemt, steppers, free weights) so 'getting to the gym' wasn't (and still isn't) an issue
Now I've gotten downright lazy and havent' been to the gym in months. I am so exhausted when I get home , so DH and I were trying to convince ourselves to get up early and go before work...
We'll see how that pans out .. I really need to get back on track

dh and i always go after dinner. around 8pm. if we go any earlier the gym is crazy crowded with commuters working out before leaving the city. so it's easier to wait. in my ideal world i'd go on my way home from work.

My company has a gym, so I joined a month ago, its sooo easy, just go to the gym right after work and then jump on the train home (after showering of course, the train is packed as it is!!)

Re: When do you work out (if you do at all)
I used to work out at home with videos or walk/jog in my neighborhood, when DH didn't live with me & was in school & he couldn't come over after work.
Then I tried goign to a gym across form work, right after work, but the whoel tiem I was there I just wanted to go home & see DH & eat.
We usually finish dinner about 8:30, so it seems late to go out to a gym then., even if I join the one around the corner. I could do a tape, but I don't want to take the tv away from DH during prime time!

I always go in the morning before work.
I get too tired after work and it gives me lots of energy for the day.

usually before work, or during my lunch break.
I workout on weekends anytime I get the chance.

Re: When do you work out (if you do at all)
If I had my choice, I'd go at 10am. That's when I have the most energy. But of course because of work, I don't have that option so I go to the gym at around 5:30pm. (On the weekends I go whenever I can drag DH out of bed!)

Re: When do you work out (if you do at all)
When I was most efficient, I was putting my gym bag in the car and going straight from work. I am going to do that today for the first time in ages. Once I go home, I'm toast. It's so hard for me to go out again. I am hoping that leaving with my things in the morning helps to get me back on track.

I either have to go during lunch or straight from work - if I go home first, I'll never make it! Lately, I've been squeezing in my workouts during lunch.

You're still working out? Impressive! My friend stopped as soon as her doctor said , ' don't over do it' I think that was about her 2nd month

Yeah, well don't be too impressed. They have been pretty lazy workouts compared to what I used to do.... I definitely don't 'push' myself!

Re: When do you work out (if you do at all)
my actual GYM time is always before work - get up at 5am.
when it's nice weather, i also take an hour long walk at lunch (but I'm lucky b/c I can eat at my desk and that doesn't 'count' as my lunch break. It gives me the full hour to walk.)
