When I was a little girl....

When I was a little girl....

When I was a little girl, about 3 years old, I used to have a Shirley Temple doll. I LOVED that doll. I brought it to pre-school one day for show and tell, and never saw it again... ….I don’t know if my mom just left it there and forgot to bring it home, or if someone stole it!! To this day, I miss my doll!!!

What did you have as a little girl, (doll, toy, game, etc)…that you still miss today??

Oh, so many things!

My Pretty Pony!!! It was like my little pony, only much bigger and you could lay it down and it would close its eyes.

Not something of mine but my brother (who is 3 yrs older) had this stuffed egg (I guess it was supposed to be Humpty Dumpty) - he was named Eggaman ...

Anyway, there are pictures of him with it as an infant, etc and I guess my mom just kept it and I guess I was about 3 or so and took it when we went out shopping on Steinway Street and I LOST EGGAMAN!!!!!

To this day I still get *scolded* by my mom & my brother!!

Wow, this is almost like Hopkin!!! If I am looking for my egg. Him name is Eggaman Bue Egg

I had a Gerber baby doll that I so creatively named 'Baby.'
We were inseperable.
I have no idea where she is now... she might be in my parents' attic. Man did I love that doll

I had an 'Annie' doll - you know, Little Orphan Annie, The sun will come out tomorrow, that sort of thing. Mom says I carried it EVERYWHERE.

I believe it too succumbed to the basement.

I had a Raggedy Ann doll my mom made me, and it was about my size when I was 4 or 5. It must have been thrown out in one of our moves somehow. I always get sad when I think about it.

I miss my Star Wars figures too. What I would do with them now, i don't know...

I do still have my first teddy bear. Someone made it for me.

Re: When I was a little girl....

I was SO not a 'doll girl' .. I was the ultimate tomboy so I do not have any of these fond memories you ladies have of dollies.

.. I do have fond memories of my first baseball mitt though.. I LOVED that mitt, I felt so 'cool' .. does that count?

I did always have various stuffed animal doggies and kitties because I desparately wanted a pet and my mean parents wouldn't let us have one

Oh yea, and I did LOVE my Barbies... but that was when I was little older and getting more girlie, like ages 9 , 10 ..and older..

Is it bad to say that I played with my Barbie dolls for a loooooooooooooong time
