When it rains it pours...

Original post by Kuklitsa143

I am just so down and I can't seem to kick this feeling...

1. My younger sister was just diagnosed with a disease that she will have for life.. She is only 18.
It won't kill her but may prevent her from having kids and etc :(

2. My mother has a good chance of having cervical cancer and needs all these surgeries and test.

I just don't know what to do- who to think of first

If you guys can send me good vibes - I would greatly appreciate it

Re: When it rains it pours...

When you see a storm is coming
You see the lightening part the sky
Its too late to run
There is terror in your eyes
What you do then is you force yourself to wait it out, and say
It's this storm not me, that's bound to blow away.

Hold on...on on to someone standing by
Hold on...don't even ask how long or why..
child hold on to what you know is true,
hold on till you get through
child oh child...hold on...

Lyrics from a song. (rearranged slightly) If we were friends, i would have already called you and sang it to you!

The only other thing i have to offer is this: if there weren't struggles in life, it would be harder to notice all of the good things. I think humans are comparative by nature, its easier to appreciate a nice warm blanket because we know how it feels to be cold.

i got into a car accident 4 years ago that literally almost killed me. I had emergancy open heart surgery, and i have to be honest...it is easier to appreciate today because I know how close I was to no being here. All we can do in life is look forward, and walk in that direction. For your sister, the things she will learn about herself and all those around her are lessons she never would have come by otherwise. You and your family will be able to appreciate just a little bit more the littlest things in life once the word 'cancer' is even uttered in regards to your mom. A lot of people treat these things as crosses to bare. I think that the best thing you can do is to treat it as a river in front of you that you have to cross. You can sit and wait for the tide to change, but you might be waiting forever, and you will be late to important things like your wedding! You can cross it through the water becasue that seems the easiest, but you will be all wet and tired when you get to the other side. Or, you can get yourself together, and you and your sister and mother can build yourselves a bridge, and then cross hand in hand. People may still be sick when they get to the other side...but think about how much closer you will be having done it together.
