When searching for your reception hall...

What did you find to be the norm for a saterday night wedding in fall? (with tax & gratuity). Just curious!

It really varried on the place. The lowest I found was for Verdi's of Westbury which wanted $72/pp + tax & grat. CLM Wanted $115 if I remember correctly.

But it also depends on the time of year for most of these places too.

Again those are the two lowest prices I was qouted. I was getting as high as $160/pp.

I priced Nov dates. These are all with tax and gratuity included. Oct will probably be a bit more

New Hyde Park Inn - $208
Westbury Manor - $160
East Wind - I think around $140
Jericho Terrace - $156

My RH came to $155 pp

I ended up going with a Sunday night before a holiday... that was it's like a Saturday night cause 90% of my guests won't have work the next day. I ended up saving a lot of money by doing that.

Did they honor Sunday quotes even on holiday's? I asked a few RH the price before Sun before labor Day....and they said it was a bit cheaper than Sat...but they wouldnt honor Sunday prices on a holiday weekend.

Well Fox Hollow I know wanted to charge me $10 more /pp because it was a night before a holiday. At CLM it didn't matter. It was the same price for the Sunday I wanted as it was the one before or after.

I was gettinf fabulous deals for the day before thanksgiving...but my parents refused to let me book that date. I figured it was just like a friday. And with enough notice...guests could arrange for someone else to have thanksgiving so they didnt have to worry about preparing. But my parents ruined it : )

The reason why I am asking, is that a friend of mine is getting a soup to nuts reception, in Conneticut, in November, of 09, for $150 Per person...that includes the tax & gratuity...wondering if that was a s good of a proce as they think that it is!!

I live in CT right now....things are very different up here. They have all these different packages for different prices. Like Menu 1 is more expensive than Menu 2. Plus, top shelf liquor is not standard....which I thought is ridiclous since thats the norm in NY. I don't know....outside of NY prices drop drastically.

The best answer is that it really depends on the RH. We went to Larkfield manor and we were given a price of 70pp plus service and tax but he was very flexible with month april, may, june. We also went to a RH Med manor and they had the same price all year round, and if you wanted to be a summer bride it's a great deal. Another example my two of my friends had there reception at Georgios in baiting hollow, for April it was over 50 cheaper pp and November was a that much more. I was very surprise i would think april would be more.
