When to get hair trials...

Im not getting married till 5/04, I know it will be here before I know it, when do you start messing with your hair? I know the people where I am getting my dress from told me to have my hairdresser tell me what kind of veil I should get that would work with my hair. What if someone does it and I can find someone better?? I want it perfect!! Is it wrong to have some trials now or should I wait till closer to the wedding?

Re: When to get hair trials...

My gut says you should wait. My wedding is Oct-03 and I haven't gone for a trial yet. I'm going to the same hairstylist that normally does my hair, so she's been helping me grow it and she has an idea what I want.

I've already changed my hair style 3 times - first I wanted it completely down, then I thought up, now I'm half-and-half. You don't want to lock yourself into a certain type of veil, and then change your mind.

JMO!!

I'd wait too.... You can't tell what your hair will look like without the headpiece and veil you will be wearing. No need right now to worry about that.

Re: When to get hair trials...

I had the same dilemma about hair, veil, trials etc. I waited until early Sept. to buy my veil for our Dec. wedding. Meanwhile, I've been letting my hair grow. I wanted a very fancy updo, so the longer the better in my case, plus I have very straight hair to begin with. Several people told me to that your headpiece will determine what kind of style you get, so check the mag's & see what you like. You may want to meet w/ your hairdresser to discuss the possibilities.

I met with the hairdresser - Marlene in Smithtown ... she's fabulous BTW, reasonable & comes to the house ... in late Nov. I brought the sample from the shop - do not bring YOUR headpiece to a trial - borrow both from them so nothing happens to it ... hairspray can kill the look of it !

all in all, everything came out Beautiful! take care of your hair now, make sure your colorist is using top products if you color, go for regular trimmings ... try to stay away from hot irons as much as possible. And make sure that you're eating well. It's makes a big difference!

Good luck!!! This is the fun part!
