when to meet with florist?

Hi all,

My wedding is in December. I have the photog, DJ, videog, photobooth, dress and accessories, venue and church. Other than invitations and flowers, what else do I need to do? When do you think I should meet with a florist? Would they even have anything to show me now for a winter wedding?

Thanks for the help! And if anyone would FM me for flower quotes, I'd soo appreciate it! I'm trying to keep my flower budget relatively small since it's not the most important thing for me.

Are you taking Engagement Pictures? Are you having an Engagement Party? Have you registered for gifts? Have you picked your bridal party and their dresses? Bought them gifts? Thought about wedding favors?

My wedding is next July and I am meeting with a florist this August. Any florist will meet with you and show you things that you might be interested in - the earlier you book that the better!

Sounds like you are in great shape for your upcoming wedding! I am going to Hidden Essence for my first florist appointment I hear Michelle really works with a budget and is very talented.

Im getting married in Nov, and we met with and booked a florist at the end of January. I personally do not care about flowers really, but my mom is paying for them and they matter to her so we only met with Marion from Bayview. Im not sure how efficiently priced she is but her work is beautiful!

I'd go sooner rather than later. We booked our florist in January and most did not show us samples but rather discussed our vision. You may also want to get a feel for who you click with and have time to negotiate. We will be going in about 2 months before the wedding to set our centerpieces and pick our flowers.

I would meet with the florist soon. The sooner the better. I agree with the post above, interview people to get a feel of who you will work with. I hired Laurie LaBlossom last August and my wedding was just last week. She did amazing work, she's great to work with and she's reasonable. She didn't show me anything when we met but as time went on we exchanged pictures that gave Her a sense of what I wanted. She did even more then I ever imagined.

I'm holding off until I have the bridesmaid dresses picked. I already have my dress. I feel like I need to know what their dresses will look like before I decide on flowers!
