when to send invites..

My wedding is June 26, 2011 and I'm almost finished printing them (I have DIY invites from Michaels). I'm probably going to get my girls to help me stuff them sometime next weekend- which would be April 2nd.

My question- I've noticed quite a few brides on here, who have the same/ or are around the same wedding date as me- have already sent out invites. Am I behind schedule? My RSVP is for May 15th. I was told typical wedding etiquette was to never have an invitee hold the invite for much longer than a month because invitations will be forgotten about and get thrown out. Thoughts? Should I get my rear moving? or can I stay on schedule?

i think if you send them out around 4/2, you should be fine!

i plan on sending mine out three months before simply b/c 1/2 of my guests are OOT.

I'm aiming to send mine the first week of April. If I can get them out earlier than that -- GREAT -- but I doubt I will.

you are good! plenty of time, if you send them out april 2.. and rsvp date is may 15th, it will be perfect

i'm probably doing the same exact thing. i would do it this w/e but i just don't have the time for it.

Date twin here.

We just started doing our invites today. We are planning on mailing them out April 15th before the new rates kick in on the 17th. I think it will be a 6 cents saving for each.

Our RSVP date is 5/22

technically you should send out invites apprx 8 weeks before the wedding or one month before the rsvp date.. if you send them too early..people could misplace them etc.
