Not when you order it but when you go for your first fitting you do so they can alter the hem correctly

Re: When you order your dress...
It depends on the gown. Some need hem to hollow measurements. I would try to approximate the size heels you will wear when you go so you can get an idea anyway. So if you think you will wear 3 inch heels for example, bring a pair of 3 inch heels you have at home to compare. if they do a hem to hollow, then you need the EXACT shoes, or they at least have to be the exact height

Re: When you order your dress...
Tip: If your dress has details in the front bottom, wear shoes. I didn't do this and when I went to pick up my dress, the lady who does the alterations told me that she would have to hem the details The reason why I got my dress was because of the details. They had shoes at the store and I tried them on with the dress. She told me that she could hem it w/o heming the details, just as long as I wear heels that are no shorter than the shoes I was wearing.

Re: When you order your dress...
I did my hollow to hem measurement today and I don't have my shoes for the weding yet. I brought heels that have the same height heel that I plan on wearing on the big day and will buy my shoes when the dress comes in just in case it is longer or shorter than the original measurement.
