when you ordered BM dresses, how was sizing because.

when I measured my girls they all measured out to size 10. Is that weird? They all don't have the same body shapes, but they are all around medium, average looking girls. I think it might have been the bust? But for 5 girls all to be the same size? Could that be right or should I hold off ordering them?

Those sizing charts are always strange and every mfg is different. I am a big into trying on the sample size and judging from there when applicable. But yes, if a person is bigger in one measurement it is a good chance they can all fit into one size but all be different sizes and shapes.

According to those charts, stores always want to order me a 10 and the ten is always too big on me (my normal dress size is like a 6!). I always have to argue them down. Also, like 3 or 4 of my BM all ordered either the 10 or the 12 and they were all different in size and shape.

also...stores usually order by the biggest body part...so one may have a 10 in hips...while the other has a 10 in boobs...

I wouldn't worry about it.

10 is a very common/average size.

Don't be too concerned. Wedding dresses run small, BM dresses run big. So a 10 isn't uncommon at all. My tiny cousin measured to a 10 with her measurements bc she has a big bust. My very thin but tall cousin measured into a 10 bc she has wide hips. You have to go with their largest measurement, but alterations will fix all!

Whew! I feel so much better, thanks you guys

I guess its better to be safe and bigger than smaller and I didn't want their alterations to cost a fortune.

Ok good. Now I can get this off my list!

. Burton's Bridals measured my ladies....all wrong. Some were too big and others were tight like a packed sausage. I was so upset because they said that all my ladies must have gained weight. Not that it's their mistake. Carol, the owner, has the most apathetic attitude to be running a bridal service. MY dress story is even more horrific. How many hours can you spare and grab a box of tissues. The letter to Burton's is being composed in my head as I type this. My fiance recommends I wait until I get the dress. Smart man.

I have ordered 12's in BM dresses and I wear an 8 in regular dresses. I need it for my hips. They do go with the largest measurement (one wedding, I needed MAJOR top alterations, but the skirt part was fine)

sizes can be so weird aren't they - its funny b/c i have a friend who ordered her wedding dress and she usually wears a 0 - yes a 0!- but ordered a 10, so naturally i am a 4 or 6 usually and figured i would be getting like a 16 or 18 according to the charts then but lo and behold my dress was a 6 so you never know - its pretty much up to the manufacutrer...usaully i think the sample dresses are a 8 or 10 so maybe see if you can go and have the girls try on the samples just to be sure!
