has anyone thought about menus yet? and ch stations? also a signiture drink? i want to start putting together some ideas, but i dont know where to begin.
We did our tasting before we booked. We wanted to make sure the food was good, and it was amazing! As far as ch stations, we already decided that and wrote it all into the contract. We're not doing any hot stations because we're not into that. We're doing all crudites, huge cheese spread, mediterranean table with hummus, roasted veggies etc., a cold antipasto station with fresh mozzarella and meats, and 12-14 passed hors d'oeuvres. For signature drinks, we're going to do sour apple martinis and a pomegranate cosmo! Our colors are green and this crazy bright purple color, so we wanted to signature drinks to mirror that :)
sounds aweosme!

One of the things Mike T suggested because I didn't want a carving station was to put a BBQ on the patio and grill up some meats, etc. I think a carving station is boring unless you do something interesting. We went to a wedding ths summer where they had a whole pig (that would not go over well considering my mom and sister are vegetarians).
I also see alot of people doing mini or slider stations. Even mini tuna burgers, mini grilled cheese, mini burgers, etc. with fresh cut veggie fries.
I want to have some traditional and at least one unique station. but nothing stupid like a mashed potatoe bar. We are also having a sushi station and shrimp bar as extras.
Oooh I like the idea of a BBQ on the patio b/c we're having a summer wedding. I can't wait to plan the menu!!!

We're doing the tasting plate too! It's nice to see someone else not choose the Viennese. Are you using S+P or Stefans? What's your menu like? Are you having menus printed for each place setting? Enough questions? Haha

Re: Where are my 2009 ROYALTON brides????
Yea I think a Vienesse on a Sunday night is a waste...I think a tasting plate is much classier personally and I am over going to weddings with chocolate fountains etc... I am using Spitz and Peck and couldnt be happier...Bobby the owner is a friend of my dad so he has done every event for my family and we couldnt be happier with their work... yes i am doing menus for each seat and they are almost done...I am designing them...actually got the template from another LIW bride and changed it to fit my needs... keep the questions coming..also advice is appreciated...im getting close and nervous... we royalton brides need to stick together since there are so few of us!!! Not for next year and 2010 is booking quick...im sooo excited!!!!!! Abby :)

I am using S&P also. Maddy is a doll. We are doing mostly whites, with some very pale pinks, as well as a splash of green. fh and i went with the VH b/c we both have a sweet tooth. i really do love the idea of the plate dessert, and think that it does look classier, but fh wanted vh so he'll get it.
what kind of centerpiece are you ladies doing for the entry way? i have a ton of pics from mags and then a million other ideas in my head.

We're using S&P but i change my mind everyday about the type and color of the CPs. I agree about the tasting plate being a classier choice but I know a lot of people would have been disappointed without the VH so we went with that. Has anyone thought about chair covers? I noticed stains on some of the chairs and have been obsessing over what to do about them since. Do you think guests would actually notice if the room is dimly lit? I don't like the idea of having to spend more money especially on something like chair covers.

we had chair covers at our e-party, so im not doing them for the wedding. they sometimes look big and kind of bulky looking. i was thinking about doing a sash or something. i'll post some pics when i find

I actually thought about just doing a sash because I figure it would detract attention from the few seats that I noticed with stains. Usually I hate the way chair covers look and they can be really uncomfortable for guests. I guess I still have some time to figure it all out!

Re: Where are my 2009 ROYALTON brides????
I feel like I keep going back and forth with a lot of things, especially my dress. We wanted like a city chic wedding and then I tried on my dress which is not city chic at all but it felt really good on but when I look at pics...I'm still not sure...everyone else loves it on me.
My flowers I'm confused. We wanted branchy and white which we got but now I think I want more flowers....My FH is thinking I'm crazy....
I hear the Vienese room (which it is in the cocktail room) is amazing. I told Mike T I didn't want it if it would interfere with dancing since I'm paying so much for the band and he said absolutly not, it will be in the cocktail room so I liked that idea because then people can have lots of choices and I was wondering if I could provide boxes for people to take stuff home. Did anyone ask about that? I know some RH's don't allow it but I thought it would be nice little bakery boxes for takehome.
I'm starting to work on inviations. I want simple and elegant. Anyone have any ideas where to look? That is pretty much my theme simple, elegant. I'm sticking with white, Ivory and black as my colors and making the wedding black-tie optional. (is that bad for Sunday twighlight?)

Re: Where are my 2009 ROYALTON brides????
I def. didn't notice that about the chairs but Im not gonna worry about that or even do a sash- people will be dancing and not paying attention to that! Id rather spend the money elsewhere! I want a high pink/white green centerpiece- like t his...
Im so glad to hear Mike said not to worry about Viennese interfering with the party that will be going on (personally I want to keep dancing and I dont care that much and the Viennese but I want to do it bc. I know people like it) I need to go talk to both florists soon! U can do the black tie optional bc. its what YOU want and then people can decide!

These are my flower so far but there will be more orchids...I didn't realize going with orchids was so expensive but now FH really wants them.
I'm still up in the air but the last place I want to spend a lot on was the flowers. I was happy working with Brian from S&P he made me feel better. I know these are not everyone's taste but we love the branch look but defnitely needs more flowers.
Those are beautiful! I love how there are flowers at the top of the vase too!

Re: Where are my 2009 ROYALTON brides????
thanks but I like the way yours are so full...but probably so much more than I wanted to spend. I really focused on spending just on the RH with the extras (sushi and shrimp bar) and the band. I really want a great party.
