Are you converting to Judiasm? I think as stated before about being married by a deacon, the church will not recognize your marriage...leading to problems when you have kids and want to have them baptized....just wondering.

No im not converting, and i am not sure i may raise the kids both. I am definately not ready to give up my holidays etc.

I know a few people who were not married in a church and were able to baptize their kids with no problems at all.

Yeh lol. Isn't Joe's parish Immac? I made my first sacraments there, then the rest at St. Francis. Both are gorgeous churches.

NO ITS st. francis, he was an alter boy there, his mom taught CCD for years there and so many ppl i know always tell me she was their CCD teacher. His mom is in the choir there even now...Joe actually lives like 2 blocks away from st. francis

Have you thought about getting married at Kings Point USMMA. If you do they have the church right next to the reception hall and they are usually free on the same day. It is such a beautiful place and since your FH is in the military I am pretty sure you qualify to get married there.

Check out there website. although it kinda stinks for wedding since they are not allowed to advertise but there are a few reviews on here.

I just checked out their website. AND I WOULD LOVE to get married in that church it is gorgeous. And the hall is very nice as well. But for Active Duty Military they only allow you to reserve a date 6 months in advance to your actual date. I am not the type of person who can plan a wedding in 6 months so I would need to have atleast a year and unfortunately there you cant!!

We're getting married at my local church, which is the same church/parish that FH's mom grew up in and the same church both FH and I were baptized in.

We're being married by a priest who is a very close friend of the family and the best part is he is the same priest who actually baptized the both of us!

Getting married in FH RC church.....

I bet they only give you 6 months because there is always the possibility that he would be assigned again. Where did you see that on the website. I couldn't find it.

We couldn't book it until 1 year in advance but we pretty much knew we had the day long before that.

Maybe you should call and talk to Richard at Melville Hall (this is the RH site) to see if they could bend the rules a little.

I actually found were it says you only have 6 months. That stinks. They have so many rules there.
