Where are you in planning?

Original post by Kris10nGerard

I know there is some 13ers hanging around. Where are you girls in planning?
We have booked our engagement party for July and working on that. We also booked our church and have been on-line looking at reception halls. Hopefully start making appointments Feb/March.

Re: Where are you in planning?

Home from wedding hunting and man am I tired

Out of the places I went to, I liked Chateau La Mer and Carlye on the Green the best.

Chateau is on the water and a great price. Carlye has a beautiful room for the reception but it's a much higher than what I would like to spend.

I'm going to a tasting at CLM in March, so I'll see how the food is. I picked my top 4 halls:

-Crest Hollow
-Melville Hall at King's Point Merchant Marine Academy
-Chateau La Mer
-Westbury Manor

Yea for narrowing it down!!! Did you see the rooms set up? FH and I are going back to Venetian Yacht Club on Sat because when we went it was just the room. FH loves Chateau La Mer food.

Re: Where are you in planning?

Hi, I'm a new 2013 bride!

Congrats to everyone!!!

I have been engaged since 9/5/09. My proposal was so spontaneous, fun and romantic!

In May of 2010 FH and I bought a house, in August of 2010 we had a housewarming/engagement luau bbq party at our new home. I'm so excited to be engaged. I have enjoyed my engagement to the fullest and now we are so, so ready to get married! Yayyyy!

1. My first step in planning our wedding was to call my Church... They said that dates get booked for weddings quickly so I better secure my date. We're going to secure the date asap.

2. My second step was to see venues - We made an appointment with Russo's on the Bay and we fell in love! I have been to corporate events at Russo's and FH has been to parties there so we knew that the food and the service were outstanding!

My Russo's on the Bay venue review:
1. We pulled up to Russo's and the valet attendants were on point (Valet Parking A+++). We told them that we had a 5:00 appointment and they took our car and directed us to where we needed to be.

2. The place is absolutely beautiful and everyone of the staff had smiles on their faces. We met with the receptionist and she said my name before I could... Very impressive! She told us to have a seat in the waiting area. We didn't have to wait long before Don came out to help us.

3. Don who was so helpful, honest and nice sat us down and began to give us several options... After our appointment he left us alone with strawberries, cookies and champagne. He gave us a gift bag with a planner inside with all of the options that were discussed...

5. Upon leaving we handed a gentlemen our valet ticket and our car was brought to us faster than any other valet that I've experienced!!!

4. Russo's were accommodating and attentive... I received a gift box from them in the mail today (chocolates, cookies), so nice... and we haven't even put down our deposit yet.

THIS IS HOW PEOPLE SHOULD BE TREATED WHEN PLANNING A WEDDING...
