Where are you ladies going for manicures?
I have been engaged for months and I was doing my own religiously when I first got engaged and just never have time to no. I was trying to not add any extra expenses but I get a little embarrassed when people ask to see the ring and my nails desperately need a manicure lol. Have any you decided to go for the expense of a bi weekly or so manicure leading up to your wedding? I know the newer gel or forever gels are supposed to last two to three weeks. Has anyone gotten these and do they really last that long?

I keep my nails short and unpolished unless I have an event.I have gotten the gel, they do last. I have gotten it a few times, they don't chip but when your nails grow then there is a space.
I have also found that it makes your nails thinner and they tend to break easier if you don't re-do the polish. Taking the polish off is about 20-30 minutes and if you don't get them redone with gel, there is a cost.

Where are you ladies going for manicures?
I keep my nails relatively short, but I give myself a manicure usually. Unless I have something super-special coming up, then I'll get them professionally done.I have been obsessed with nail polish & nail tools since I was in Jr High... so I'm pretty good with a cuticle trimmer haha. Plus I prefer the way I paint my nails... one of my biggest pet peeves is when they don't paint all the way to the cuticle line, or leave spots on the side of my nail unpainted.
I am in search of a good place to go to for when I get my nails done for my wedding....

Where are you ladies going for manicures?
I get a manicure every week. I go during my lunch and work and it always make me feel 100% better about myself! I don't do the gel because I like to change colors.FH doesn't have a problem with it because fresh polish always makes my ring sparkle so much more for some reason lol.

Where are you ladies going for manicures?
i keep my nails relatively short... just a small amount of free edge. Perfect head scratching length as FH likes to call them.I do them myself. I have probably close to 150 polishes and I do them every 3-4 days or so. I really need to do them tonight.
I have the whole set up... the cuticle oil stuff, the clippers ... everything.
Polishing my nails keeps me from doing other things... like stuffing my face with food...

I go to Lavendar Nails on New Hyde Park Rd. in Garden City and get a gel french manicure. It lasts perfectly for two weeks and I can stretch it to three if I don't have the time. It find that it keeps my nails really strong, I love it! I soak my own polish off at home with nail polish remover and tin foil, (I found it on pinterest) because I could never sit there for that long!

Where are you ladies going for manicures?
I keep my nails short but im terrible at doing them. I get the gel it does last 2-3 weeks without chipping but like with tips when your nail grows you see a space. There is a place in East Meadow I go to that does a wonderful job. Ive gotten tips there too they are really great. Ask for Jason its on Hempstead tpk in the shopping center with uncle Giuseppes

Where are you ladies going for manicures?
Thanks ladies! I think I might try out a few places and see and do the gel since they seem to last the longest so probably save me a little money. I just never have time to do them myself anymore. I haven't had time to polish my nails since the end of september.....really bad lol.

Where are you ladies going for manicures?
I used to go every other week for a gel manicure, but I have almost no free time on the weekends and I get home late during the week leaving me no time to go. I bought an at home gel manicure kit from Nailuv. It takes me about an hour to apply and it's really simple if you are good at painting your own nails already. I do my nails before bed and never have to worry about blanket marks!

Re: Where are you ladies going for manicures?
My sister goes to Nailicous nails is Hauppauge. She highly recommends them, and she is really picky about where she goes. I don't have a regular nail salon but I actually plan to start going there for regular manicures in the near future. since it's close to where I work I can go on my lunch break!

I totally agree! I can't stand when they don't paint all the way to the cuticle.

Re: Where are you ladies going for manicures?
I have tried EVERYTHING! I have gotten regular manicures, acrylics, gel, silk wrap. I love a tip but they never last for me. I am rough with my hands and my nails also grow so fast. Anything that says they last 2 weeks- only lasts about 5-7 days for me. I have paid so much money and always end up doing my manicure myself because I like the way I do it the best. I will go and get manicures when I have events coming up. I do not plan on getting tips for my wedding but rather just a manicure. I MAY end up doing the gel just for the sake of the honeymoon because we are going for 12 days but I don't even know because I know it won't last..NAIL DRAMA!
