FH and I are starting to look at houses near me. Its soooooo expensive to buy something decent! I dont know how we will ever afford it! What will be your living situation after the wedding?

well we are actively house hunting now in Wantagh, S. Bellmore, Seaford & Merrick...We are hoping to find a house & close before the summer...

We are starting our official house hunt this summer. We are looking in Suffolk - Islandia, Sound Beach, Rocky Point and even really far east in like Shirley (although someone told me to watch out because Shirley has good and bad areas). I'm hoping to find something/anything that is around $350,000 (and praying that the wedding fund doesn't steal too much $$$ from the house fund - which needs to grow quite a bit more!)
I was hoping townhouses would be a bit more affordable - but they are SO expensive.

We live together now in our house in Huntington Station - and as long as we don't choose to move between now and May '06 (looked at a house today in Centerport) - we'll be living here.

We're going to get a condo - My FH is in sales he is all over LI and part of the city - so I am not sure what neck of the wood we will be in but we dont even want to be bothered with the up keep of a house ......we have quite a bit to put done so we will see

The garage... Its pathetic how expensive it is to live in NY...We've considered everywhere...NJ, PA, Suffolk, upstate NY...we figured when we have to start looking we'll look at all these areas and hopefully find something...thank goodness FH is handy and can do alot as far as remodeling...so even if we find a fix me upper...(a fixer upper in my area starts at $550,000) can you imagine $550,000 then you have to drop another $50,000 to fix it...they've got to be kidding me...
NY real estate disgusts me soo much...I would definatly not mind leaving here...

we actually have a beautiful cardboard box picked out because that's really all we can afford right now..... we'll definitely be renting for at least the first year or two while saving for a house...Long Island is soooooooooooo expensive!!!

With My in-laws for a while, and save for a house. I rather rent, but they are insisting we live with them for a while.

Our new house. We closed in Decmeber and we are not moving in until after the wedding (fixing it up in meantime). We Cannot wait!!!
