Wingate Inn
I had a great experience with them. don't even bother paying for the suite. we got a regular room, and still received the champagne and truffles...bet. the wedding ending after midnight, then hanging out with the guests in the lobby bar, we didn't get upstairs until 3 am...9:30 am breakfast and checkout...
it didn't seem 'worth' it to spend the extra money on something we were getting minimal use out of (JMVHO)

We are actually going 'home.' Well it will be my new home, but my fiance's co-op.
We are not leaving for out honeymoon till a week later, so we are driving up to Nantucket Mondayt as a mini-moon, so we need to save money somewhere.

We are too. We were going to stay in the city, my FFIL was going to spring for a room at the W. But we stayed at the Bryant Park Hotel the night he proposed to me and the noise was a little too much for us. We didn't get a lot of sleep. Our wedding ends at 5pm and we'd be more comfortable getting a good night's sleep at home. Plus, FFIL is paying for a limo to take us to the airport the next morning too.

We'll be leaving out of LaGuardia for our HM the next morning so we'll be staying over there. FH wants to book the Courtyard by Marriott, but we want to check it out first (maybe this weekend!!)

This is what we are doing at the WIngate. We booked a king room for $139 (regular oom block rate) and they are giving us complimentary: Fresh Flowers, Champagne, Strawberries, breakfast in bed and a late check out of 2PM. They upgrade you to this package if you are a Fortunoff's registered bride. We are also having the bar stay open until 3AM- at no additional cost to us.

That's exactly how I felt until I found out that they only started throwing in that room for the bride and groom in 2002. Before that there was no such thing as a complimentary bridal suite (or regular room for that matter)!
