any ideas? i'll bring my own food if i have to.. it woldbe for around 50 people... and keep in mind it will be february

You could check local American Legion and Knights of Columbus halls.

I'm trying to do the same thing.... FH's 30th is in Dec.

I threw FH's 30th at my dad's house - had it catered for 45 people...is someone's house an option?

Otherwise a pizza-restaurant/Italian Family-style restaurant would be good...or as someone suggested, a Knights of Columbus hall or something.

what about a chinese buffet?? my GF had her rehearsal dinner at one, and i swear, it was the most fun we ever had.

what about a bar, something like the wantagh inn ? I heard its nice there but have never been. check it out

also try my BIL's place Guy Anthony's in Merrick.. tell him I referred you.. =) the best part is that you can have the place to yourself.

also try jackie reilly's on hempstead turnpike.. my gf had a surprise party for her FI and it was a great time,
