your gown??!! (sorry if this posts twice) I have been to five different places and had different experiences but the one place I had a better experience i heard terrible things about! Not that I could even find a dress or decide on one, but I hear mostly negative things about just about every salon out there. I just want to 1) FIND a dress 2) at a reliable friendly helpful place! (too much to ask??!)
Please ONLY POSITIVE experiences on the post (if you post a negative one, they'll delete it so please FM me if you have a particularly terrible experience)
Where I have been so far:
Paradise Bridal: Cherise was very helpful and I tried on a lot of dresses, but she was a little over the top and it was my first time out, but they have a good selection.
Village Bridal of babylon: Pretty low key, looked on my own and the girl pulled a few. decent selection, a little crowded the night i went
Bridal Reflections Massapequa: Very stuck up but nice enough. only showed me trunk show stuff, not the dress i asked to see. little pricey
Bridal Elegance (Huntington? Dix Hills area): Nancy was very nice and Phyllis is supposedly amazing for alterations but i only tried on a couple dresses because they didn't have a large selection. (although they said they would order anything,,, doesn't really help me)
Lillette's: Pat was nice enough but not too helpful. my mom found more on the racks of what i was asking for then she did. overall ok.
RK Bridal. I ordered it in April. They were very nice and believe it or not, the sales people were helpful. I went in thinking that it was a fend for yourself sort of place but they definitely give recommendations and bring out dresses they think would look good on you.
I also went to Designer Loft in the city and had a good experience there.
HTH.

Re: Where did you get...
I got my gown at Davids Bridal in Yonkers because the dress was discontinued and that was the only store in NY that had it. I will not be getting my dress altered at Davids Bridal though because I have heard too many stories so I am going to go to Angel Bridals in Islip. Check out Angel Bridals they are SOOOO helpful and SUPER nice there! Also check out fantasia bridal in rocky point. I spoke with a person who worked there at my rh's bridal showcase and they were really really nice!

I worked with Liz and Ashley. Everyone is very sweet. A coworker, who recently got engaged had looked in a few bridal shops for her gown. I suggested she try Helen's too. She bought her dress there as well.

Re: Where did you get...
They really are fabulous! I went to two other shops as well but the service just didn't compare as to Helen's!
My dress came in and I can't wait to go see it!

I'm getting my gown at Lillette's. I recommend going back and asking for Geri. She's been nothing but helpful and had pulled TONS of gowns from the racks for me

Re: Where did you get...
I bought mine at Macys in Smithhaven. THey were awesome even though I have heard some bad things but I can not say a bad thing. THe dress came in super early and alterations were a breeze.
I also looked at dresses at Village Bridal. I went on a Sat and had the first apt in the morning. They were awesome. I looked through the dresses but they also pulled dresses that they thought I might like. I would have bought a dress there If thats where I found the one.

Paradise I love them there. I use Barbara though..that was the last place I went & it was my best experience & had gone back numerous times & she always took her time with me & I NEVER felt rushed ..it especially important becasue as I started looking I realized how picky I was! I didn't think I would be like that! haha :)

I went to Lillette's and I actually used Pat. I thought she was great! I think when you find 'THE' dress that's the salon you'll use!

I worked with Carol and I loved her, she was super nice, patient, and helpful. She saw my vision and dress two was the one.

Re: Where did you get...
I bought my gown at Demetrios at the Smithaven Macys; they were friendly, helpful, and honest. I also highly recommend Fantasia in Rocky Point.
