Where did you get engaged?

My DH proposed to me on a boat ride at Disney World We had picked out the ring and all and he was holding it on our trip...so i didn's exactly when he would do it , only knew it would be at some point on the trip! It was torture

We got engaged in a hotel room in the city. he surprised me with dinner and tickets to 'Movin Out'. He said he wanted to propose in the restaurant but was too excited to wait!

He proposed on his birthday, at sunrise, on a beach in Bermuda. Since we were in such a beautiful place, and since he's NOT a morning person, I sort of expected that the proposal was coming then. He said that the best birthday present I could ever give him was to be his wife. It was really sweet. To my surprise, I didn't cry. The question 'Will you marry me?' almost seemed silly; we had been together for so long, owned a house together, and knew we were meant for each other, so, my ultra romantic response was....'Yes, of course...duh!'

We were in Atlantic City.... in the 7 1/2 years we have been together we had never actually gotten away all by ourselves... always had friends or family with us...

I had recently started collecting 'Angel Cheeks' statues, and I bought three of them at the gift shop earlier that day. We spent the day out and about and after dinner stopped back up in the room. When I came out of the bathroom, I noticed an Angel Cheeks statue on the night table. I asked what it was (I thought he had taken one of the ones I bought out of the bag and I couldn't figure out why) and then took a closer look. It was a statue holding a little box with a little ring (see avator)and he had my ring in the angels lap... once I figured it out I started to cry. He just held me while I cried until I finally said... 'don't you have somethin to ask me?' and so he did and I said yes :)

He didn't get down on one knee but it was okay! It was romantic for him (hes usually not) to do what he did and I know he put a lot of thought into it.

He said he was nervous all day- I didn't even pick up on it... I had a feeling it was coming but I wasn't sure.

The funniest part is whenI told my parents (who had no idea) my mom gave us the bride and groom Angel Cheeks, which she had bought a while ago and put away for when the time came... :) It's now our unofficial theme :)

On the beach in Del Mar here in San Diego at sunset on November 22nd. He'd been telling me he was working a lot of overtime (which he partially was), but during some of those hours he was supposed to be working, he had gone and picked out the stone and the band of the ring, asked my dad's permission, picked up the ring, and showed it off to all the ladies at work. The day he proposed (a Saturday) he'd gone in to work in the morning, then left to pick it up, then stopped back by work toshow it off, then came home and hid it behind the toilet paper in the downstairs bathroom. He was so nervous and excited, he jumped at the chance to get out of the house and away from me when our housemate called her boyfriend (our other housemate) to tell him she got a flat tire. So, the two guys went to rescue her. He came back, and we left to go for a walk on the beach.

I didn't believe him at first... I hadn't looked down at the ring and he had faux-proposed to me once or twice before. There was a wedding going on on the beach and I thought he was just reassuring me b/c when I saw the wedding going on I asked him if he was ever going to make me his bride (we'd been together almost 7 years at that point). When he propsed, I gave him a funny look and he said, 'Look at the ring.' As soon as I saw it, I burst into tears. It was the best day ever.

We got engaged while away at Hilton Head Island, South Carolina while away with his friends on August 2, 2004.

We had just gotten there after a very very long drive and huge amounts of summer traffic going onto the Island We arrived at our Townhouse and the other couple staying with us wanted to shower and go out to eat. I was exhausted but I really didn't know the other couple so I didn't want to seem like a snot. My FI's friend said for us to take showers and then we will wait a little while and they will take showers and they we can go. My FI's friend told me that there is a water shortage on the island and you have to take showers far apart. I believed him

After we both took showers, my FI told me he wanted to go see the ocean and the beach while we waited for the other couple to get ready. I was mad because it was already dark out. He insisted to walk down to the beach (which was a very long walk). Once there we were looking around and I was trying to figure out what some lights were out in the ocean when he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. By this time he was crying like crazy. I kept telling him to shut up for some reason. He said well? I said of course and that was that I didn't cry until later during the trip. I think I was still in shock that it was actually finally happening

upstate NY, in a beautiful garden of an old mansion... we were in the area at our friend's wedding the night before...

We were on the beach at night in Long Beach. He said he wanted to go see how big the waves were because there was going to be a storm....a snow storm it was December! (needless to say we had the whole beach to ourselves!)

HOW IT HAPPENED
Nick proposed at one of our most memorable places, Captree State Park on West Islip, Long Island, New York. We left work promptly at 5:30 p.m. heading east bound on the LIRR at Hicksville where Nick parked the car. We drove nearly 30 miles which Tina had no clue as to where we were going. We vaguely remember how far Captree State Park was, but remember that night where we sat in the car to talk back in January 1997. We got out of the car into the darkness and started to walk on the boardwalk. He told Tina that he got a surprise for her and have her turn around where the view of Fire Island was calm and a clear night. She then was allowed to turn around to see a little box wrapped up perfectly for Valentine’s Day. Nervously, she opened the box shaking from the cold and saw a ring sparkling in the darkness. Nick then got down on his hands and knees taking Tina’s hand to pop the question. Overwhelm with joy, she said yes throwing herself at Nick with a bear hug. We then went to the nearest place to eat since we were far from home at Seaford Palace Diner for a late dinner.

My FH first surprised me with a cruise to the caribbean...then proposed on formal night. Needless to say we had a great vacation!!!
