I am about to start shopping for the bridal gown. Where did you all go and have positive experiences? Where should I watch out for? Do you have pics of which you picked? Post' em. If I know I am going to loose 20lbs over the next year before wedding - what do you do with getting the dress??? Help... please.

I got my dress at Macys' Manhasset...There is a women there named betty who is soo nice, we got the bridesmaid dressed there and my moms dress too...they are great..have been to both bridal reflections and HATE THEM...they last bridesmand dress i bought there was $380.00 and it fell apart before the church.everyones did and the bride called them the next day and they said too bad...

I got mine @ Macys at the Smithhaven mall, they only sell Demetrios dresses, but I knew that is what I wanted. I had a great experience, and I to will loose atleast 20 lbs before the wedding, we ordered a size that just a tiny bit too tight so if I only lost 5 lbs. it would fit, but if I lost 25 they could take it in easily.

I went there once was not thrilled with the selections...Macys will also work with you, for example if you order your wedding dress there and bridesmaid dresses they give you and your bridesmaids 20% off...

I ordered mine from Paradise Bridal in Patchogue. I had an awesome experience there. Very helpful. When you try on the dress they turned down the lights so you can see what it looks like in DJ lighting.

i went to paradise bridal too and had a great experience. i ended up getting the very first dress i tried on. marge is GREAT to work with. a total sweetheart. this is my dress, lazaro, but i ordered it in ivory. i've lost about 10 lbs since then and they ordered it a size bigger than i need, so i'm screwed when it comes to alterations!!! but i would totally recommend purchasing a dress there - perhaps find alterations elsewhere though.

Lillette's was great. They had the dress I wanted to try on from the Jasmine Couture collection. I loved it there. Its not private at all so be prepared to show off your dress in the middle of the store - but its kind of fun to get everyone's opinion. I worked with Lidia and she was wonderful. she was really knowledgeable and I learned a lot from here. I'm going to go to Bridal Reflection in Massapequa in about two weeks.....
