I am about to start shopping for the bridal gown. Where did you all go and have positive experiences? Where should I watch out for? Do you have pics of which you picked? Post' em. If I know I am going to loose 20lbs over the next year before wedding - what do you do with getting the dress??? Help... please.

i got mine from macy's smith haven mall its a Demetrios. i had a wonderful experince with them. my dress should be in sometime in june.

i went to paradise bridal too and had a great experience. i ended up getting the very first dress i tried on. marge is GREAT to work with. a total sweetheart. this is my dress, lazaro, but i ordered it in ivory. i've lost about 10 lbs since then and they ordered it a size bigger than i need, so i'm screwed when it comes to alterations!!! but i would totally recommend purchasing a dress there - perhaps find alterations elsewhere though.
I love your dress! I'm suddenly feeling buyers remorse! I need to go visit my dress so I can remind myself to like it again!

I got my dress at Bridal Reflections in Carle Place. I have had nothing but good experiences there so far, so don't always listen to what other people have to say because everyone's experiences are different. For example, I had a bad experience at Kleinfeld for me, but a great experience there with my mom - she wound up buying her dress there. So it all depends on who you work with. Good luck!

Has anyone heard anything about Lilliets Bridal in Baldwin?
Just be careful with Macy's. The price they gave me for my dress was like $400 over what I actually paid for it.

I got mine at Bridal Reflections in Carle Place. The woman I met with was really underhanded. Sheasked my price range, saying they do that b/c they don't want you to fall in love with a dress & not be able to afford it. Saleswoman brings in this dress that I fall in love with, and she knew I would b/c it was everything I said I wanted. When I asked how much it was (thinking it was in my price range) she said 'Oh know! I thought this dress was Ines Di Santo, but it's St. Pucchi. Must've been in the wrong spot'. The dress was over $8,000!!!!!!!
I could've smacked the woman I was so mad. That was WAAAAAAAY over my budget! Thankfully, I found another dress that was much cheaper. The women in Massapequa are much nicer & not just looking for a big commission. here's my dress
