Where did you get your wedding ring?

Original post by reneepinto

FH and I have started shopping for wedding bands and it has been a somewhat stressful event because of all the options there are out there.

Plus I hate high end, high pressure sales associates who tell you what you want instead of listening to what you want!!

Any help?

We'll be using the same place FH got my e-ring...the box says Whitman Jewelry. I know it's on Rt. 110 in Melville.

Not sure yet, but I had a fabulous experience just looking at the Zales Outlet in Tanger. Patricia and Mary Lou are fabulous and they showed me rings for FH and I that totaled less than $300 for both, and they were BEAUTIFUL!!!

They are the BEST ~ Fh and I were so stressed about this part but we went to a couple of jewelry stores and always felt pressured! but then we met Christen and Marie at the LIW showcase and fell in love with them and FH & I both said we need to check them out! We went into there store ~ DID NOT feel pressured one bit & we were there for a little while ~ We had so much fun & we bought our wedding bands that day! it was a GREAT experience ~ check Good Old Gold out ~ they are the BESTEST!

(Plus they fixed my e-rings prongs for FREE)

i bougth mine from Litman Jewlers in Broadway Mall. I found them very nice and not pushy at all. I hate pushy sales people.

I did too, except I went to the one in South Shore Mall. They were very nice.

Re: Where did you get your wedding ring?

Ours came from E-Weddingbands.com I don't know about their diamonds, if that's what you're looking for, but we both wanted fairly plain platinum bands, for less than the $1,000-$2,000 we were getting quoted. My husband has big fingers, and big hands, so he needed a ring of a good width, and it had to be a 12.5, so therefore, expensive. E-weddingbands was great. The rings are beautiful, heavy, the prices were really low, no tax, I think free shipping, and they came really quickly. They also engraved them for free! They were great, I can't recommend them more. I got the very plain band, my husband got the 'Newport' band with a titanium inlay. He really liked the two-tone look, and several jewelers told me that if you get a finish on the ring, such as this one in the center, it would wear off quite quickly, especially in a man who uses his hands a lot. So with the titanium the two-tone will never wear off, it's lighter than it would have been, and it was less expensive (it was still around $1,000.) The first is his, the second is mine.

Re: Where did you get your wedding ring?

You're probably not going to see this, but, if you have a broken prong, do they fix the one prong, or do they replace all of them? My mom has a ring with a broken prong, and a jeweler told her that. She took it back home because she didn't want to spend the money then--he quoted her $300 or $400!--but I think it might have been a line. Or not, what do I know about jewelry...

Or, anyone know the answer to that?

Elsa's fixed my e-ring when one of the prongs snapped off and I almost lost my stone. They did an absolutely beautiful job, I actually think it looks nicer now since they tipped all of the prongs. Their customer service was great and it was ready very quickly. We will probably be going there to check out bands.

The Clay Pot in Brooklyn
They don't have a huge selection but everything they have is really unique. It's the only place that I know of that has really different stuff.

We got my ering from GOG, and we loved them. We're going to start looking for wedding bands next month, and GOG will be our first, and I'm sure, our only stop.
