Where did you go on your honeymoon and a few other questions?

I am looking to book a second honeymoon this year. Ours was cut short due to hurricane Wilma. So I need some ideas. Mexico is definitely out for us. So a few questions...

Where did you go?

How long did it take to get there?

Would you go back?

Also feel free to add any other info.

We went to Europe - 6 nights in London and 3 nights in Brussels. We intended on Paris, but they were having riots there the week of our wedding, so we made a switch at the last minute.

Going to London was about 5 1/2 hours

We would DEFINATELY go back

We went to Aruba. The flight from AA direct from Kennedy was around 4hrs 15 minutes. We stayed at the RIU ARuba Grand, but it will be closed starting this summer for renovations. WE loved Aruba. Probably wouldn't go back, but that's just b/c we like to go to different places.

We were effected by Wilma for a mini vacation we had planned.. So I will never do Mexico AGAIN! LOL.. We are gonna do Aruba.. i have a great LIW vendor that i used for 30th b-day, honemoon, mini vacation before wedding and she is also doing our 1 year wedding anniversary. FM me for detals/

Otherwise to answer your questions we did Aruba but for actual honeymoon we did Sandlas in St. Lucia.

our first choice was to HM in Italy, but November is the rainy season there.

We went to Couples Negril and it was amazing. We would go back again in a heartbeat! But probably to a different Couples Resort. We’re thinking about Couples Sans Souci for the next Caribbean trip since it’s their newest one.

ETA: the flight was 3 hours and change and the bus trip from the airport to Negril was just over an hour.

We went to Cabo San Lucus- it only rains about 4 days a year there and generally not touched by hurricanes

we went for 10 days
it took too long to get there - no direct flights- about 7 hours flying time total

we stayed at the RIU Palace- we loved loved loved it

we plan to go back to Cabo next year

Where did you go? - Equinox Resort & Spa - Manchester Village, VT

How long did it take to get there? 4 hours driving time

Would you go back? - In a heartbeat! AND Plan on it this year!

Also feel free to add any other info. - You know my take...we're both not 'tropical' people and couldn't wait to hit VT. I know many don't consider Vermont a honeymoon, but it was all we could afford and was the BEST decision we could have made!!! We had the time of our lives! We were upgraded to the Presidential Suite because it was the 'down' time of year. In between peak fall foliage & ski season. It wasn't a concern to us. Even though top restaurants were closed we were treated like royality in the resorts Marsh Tavern. Amazing food! During the week we owned the pool, spa, jacuzzi...all heaven...all relaxing. We were enjoying ourselves so much we decided to stay another night. Our room was booked for a weekend wedding so we were upgraded again for a minimal fee to the Charles Orvis Inn....Whoa...we decided to stay in the entire night.

We went to the Boulders Inn in New Preston, CT for 2 nights right after the wedding - there are 20 rooms and we had a private cottage with a fireplace, jacuzzi for two and a deck. There was snow on the ground and it was a lovely, New England winter getaway.

Driving time (from hotel in Garden City = 95 minutes or so - DH speeds)

Our honeymoon - Anse Chastanet in St. Lucia. Flying time - one flight to Miami (3 hours) then an hour layover - then a flight to St. Lucia (3 hours 13 minutes)

I'll post a review of everything once I come back - but hopefully I'll say that yes, I'd definitely return!

Virgin Gorda, stayed at Little Dix Bay

ETA: 3 hour flight to PR, half hour to Tortola and 45 min boat ride (while drinking rum punch) to Virgin Gorda...probably about 5 hours total!

Would DEFINITELY go back, we are playing to for an anniversary but want to explore other areas for now.

Perfect combination of relaxation, pampering, and activity. I am a lay on the beach girl while DH likes to do more...we had beach days, snorkeling, hikes, spa treatments, day trips, private dinner on beach, etc, etc.

We went to St Lucia. The reason we chose St Lucia is because our honeymoon was originally booked to go to the Myan Riveria in Mexico but thanks to hurricane Wilma we had to cancel. We received a full refund, did some research and decided on St Lucia which was a GREAT choice!

We flew into Miami which was about 2 1/2 hours and from Miami we flew into St Lucia which was 3 hours. Our layover was about 2 hours so it was a pretty long trip. THERE AREN'T ANY DIRECT FLIGHTS INTO ST LUCIA.

Yes, I would definitely go back...St Lucia is a GORGEOUS island is VERY tropical, the beaches are gorgeous!!

Where did you go?
* We went to Tanzania, Africa

How long did it take to get there?
* To go to Africa, including layovers it was about 18 hours: flight time was 6 hours to Amsterdam, 9-1/2 hours to Arusha
The trip back totaled 45 hours of traveling from Zanzibar Island to NY.

Would you go back?
* In a heartbeat, it was the most amazing trip of my life. It's a part of the world you can't even imagine exists ... from exotic food to luxury hotels ... local tribesmen to stunning scenery to tours steeped history (first evidence of man was discovered here!). It was truly amazing.

We went to Southern Italy (Basilicata) and Rome for 3 days...

We left NY Monday morning and (with the time changes) ladnded in Naples (after switching from Milan) Tues morning... flight time was 6 hours, we had a great tailwind ont he way there, but coming home was almost 10 hours as we flew out from Rome, which is more South.

I would go back, but not until I see other countries and, although it was beautiful, I would prefer to go to another area to see more of the country.

How long did it take to get there? 9.5 hours direct flight from Newark

Would you go back? Definitely

I am not a flying person and the flight there wasn't too bad. It was so pretty and relaxing.

Where did we go? Cabo San Lucas (Dreams Resort)

How long for? 7 nights

How long was the flight? 4 hrs to Dallas and 3.5 to Cabo. I'm used to 7 hour flights, but I hated this

Would we go again? Yes, definitely, in a few years. But, I would rather rent a villa and go with a group of friends the next time.

Other info: Given the flight time, I wish I had persuaded DH to to go to Europe instead. But, we'll do it this year

We went to St Lucia and stayed at the Sandals Grande St Lucian. We stayed for 7 days. We had a 2 part flight. We flew from Laguardia to Miami Int'l, which I think was a 3+ hour flight. Then we flew from Miami Int'l to Hewanorra Int'l (UVF) in St Lucia, which was a 4 hour flight. UVF is 1 of 2 airports on the island, and it also happens to be the farther airport from the resort. So, once we got to St Lucia, we had a 2 hour car ride (which is supposed to only be an hour and half, but it was raining) thru the rainforest, and basically the whole island. As you know, we had some trouble, as American Airlines lost our luggage and we didnt get it until over 24 hours after we got there (which really ***** when its gorgeous outside, and you're in jeans, and a long sleeve tshirt.). There were some things about the resort that I did not like (the mold in the shower in our 1st room, and the overall uncleanliness of the bathroom in our 1st room, the food was OK- some restaurants were better than others, and the staff was at times rude). On the other hand though, there were many great things about the resort- all you can eat, and all you can drink. DH and I love to drink, so this was wonderful for us. In St Lucia, there are 3 Sandals resorts all together, and they are all within 30 mins of each other. It was really nice to go to the other resorts and explore. We stayed in a Honeymoon Lagoon Swim-Up Room- and this is a suite conceirge level room. It was nice to be able to step out of our room and go in the water. With this level room, you get your own conceirge- and in-room bar. The conceirge was great- some of the restaurants in the resorts need reservations, and they made our reservations for us, as well as helped us out with finding snorkeling at one of the other Sandals. The conceirge got us the liquor we wanted for our room- it was great. The resort itself is also absolutely gorgeous.

St Lucia itself is a beautiful beautiful island. I definately want to go back- and if/when we do go back, and think I want to stay at some place more 'rustic'. And I definately want to explore the island more! I would definately suggest anyone to go there!

I know St. Lucia looks amazing!!! But it is so expensive.

We are looking for all-inclusive. Our main goal is to chill on the beach and relax!

Its actually not as expensive as I thought b/c one of my co-workers just booked a trip to the Coconut Bay all-inclusive resort for 8 days, and they have an awesome room (its like the romance room or something like that), and with airfare included, it was only $1800/pp. I dont think thats that bad!!
