Where did you go on your honeymoon and a few other questions?

Hi ladies!

I am looking to book a second honeymoon this year. Ours was cut short due to hurricane Wilma. So I need some ideas. Mexico is definitely out for us. So a few questions...

Where did you go?

How long did it take to get there?

Would you go back?

Also feel free to add any other info.

This will also help 06'ers and 07'ers!

Hey Kimmy,

We did puerto rico and aruba. Since puerto rico is the carribean airport hub you can easily hop to any island from there. How about a couple of days in PR and a couple of days in aruba, st maarten, st thomas, st john or another island? Its reasonably priced and coming back you can get a direct flight to jfk. If your interested in more, fm me. If not keep me posted about where your thinking of going. I'd love to know your final outcome.

Where did you go? Australia. Sydney and the great barrier reef

How long did it take to get there? ugh. 6 hours to LA, 4 hour layover there, 13 hours from LA to Sydney, so that's 23 hours total, not counting airport security, etc.

Would you go back? Absolutely!!!!!

I know St. Lucia looks amazing!!! But it is so expensive.

We are looking for all-inclusive. Our main goal is to chill on the beach and relax!

It can be very expensive - but one of the resorts we looked at wasnt terrible in terms of price - Le Sport body holiday - it's in northern st. lucia and it's a spa - all inclusive plus a treatment for you everyday! (massage, facial, etc.)

We went to the Cap Juluca Resort in Anguilla for 10 days/11 nights. It was absolutely incredible and I'd go back in a second. It didn't take too long to get there - basically it's a flight to Puerto Rico and then a 45 minute prop plane ride to Anguilla. I don't like flying so I may skip the little plane next time - they have direct flights from NY to St. Maarten/St. Martin where you can take a ferry over to Anguilla. The only downside (from what I've heard) is that 1) the ferry is on the opposite side of the island from the airport and 2) you have to go through customs twice - once in St. Maarten and once when you get to Anguilla.

Where did you go? We went on a Royal Caribbean cruise and saw Puerto Rico, Aruba, Curacao, St. Marteen and St. Thomas. Our favorite island was Aruba. We are going on another cruise next week and I can let you know about that one, we are visiting St. Lucia, Barbados, Antigua, St. Marteen, and St. Thomas

How long did it take to get there? about 4 hours to Puerto Rico

Would you go back? Cruising was a lot of fun but the island I would recommend the most is Aruba. We spent 2 days there and absolutely loved it!

We went to Europe - 6 nights in London and 3 nights in Brussels. We intended on Paris, but they were having riots there the week of our wedding, so we made a switch at the last minute.

Going to London was about 5 1/2 hours

We would DEFINATELY go back

I LOOOOOOOVE BRUSSELS

I WENT LAST YEAR - IT WAS FANTASTIC

SO WAS BRUGGE.....

We went to St. Lucia for 10 days/9 nights. We stayed at Sandals Grande St. Lucian. I loved it! There isn't much 'night life' but the beach was amazing-the pools were amazing. We had a blast. We had to change plans in Miami but all in all it was great. Then we went to Disney World for 4 days. We flew from St. Lucia to Miami to Orlando (Long day!) We stayed that Carribbean Beach Hotel (amazing-highly recommend) Our honeymoon was fabulous!

Where did you go?
We went to Acapulco and stayed at the Fairmont Acapulco Princess. Acapulco is in Mexico but they rarely have rain and are never hit with hurricanes. We were originally supposed to go to Cancun but that was cancelled due to the hurricane and I have to say thank God for that. This was the best vacation I was ever on and we travel alot

How long did it take to get there?
It takes about 7 hours and that includes a lay over in Dallas but it is so worth it.

Would you go back?
I would go back there in a heart beat. We both agreed that if we had the extra money we would of bought timesharing or a condo.

Acapulco is a place I would love to go back to every year.

We went to Greece: Athens, Rhodes, Crete and Santorini. I think it took somewhere between 8 and 10 hours to get to Athens. I'd go back in a heartbeat. Greece is absolutely beautiful. The weather was great, the sites were incredible, and the food was delicious. On our HM, DH and I started talking about how we wanted to go back there one day.

I second Greece. We did a Mediterranean cruise and had a few stops in Greece and just fellin love with it!

we went there, too-- and stayed at the bitter end yacht club (beyc.com). it was incredible!!!
the rooms could use a little updating, but it wasn't bad... and all the food was included, plus its a big water sports resort, so there were tons of snorkeling trips and other boat tours you could go on that were included, all kinds of sailboats/small motorboats that you could take out on your own.... one day we went to the other side of the island and rented a jeep and just toured around.
its a SMALL island, and theres not all that much shopping or night life... but its the true definition of relaxing! everyday we just did our own thing- took out the small motorboat from the resort to a small island nearby with nothing on it and had the beach basically all to ourselves to snorkel and lounge... it was increadible!!
a little pricey- almost $600 a night, but it was absolutely worth it!!

Where did you go? FIJI

How long did it take to get there? FOREVER - Put it this way, we left NY on Sunday morning at 8AM and by the time we got to Fiji it was 6AM on Tuesday.

Would you go back? Not unless I win the lottery & have unlimited time to travel - would love to but it was a once in a lifetime thing.

It was a hike - but well worth it.
Here's one of the places we stayed - very quiet, intimate, secluded & peaceful.

Well our choices were slim. DH and I don't fly. And we don't like hot weather. So we did a cruise to Canada/New England. We ported at Halifax, Nova Scotia ;Saint John, New Brunswick;Bar Harbor, Maine;Boston, Massachusetts; and Newport, Rhode Island. All round trip from New York. We absolutely loved it. We are saving to go on another cruise. And it wasn't expensive either.
