it two months until the wedding and she doesn't have a dress. she refuses to go to a bridal salon and order one and anyway, it's too late to do that. she's been shopping in like bargain outlets and hasn't found anything. it's so annoying b/c i'm her daughter and she should really care about what she's wearing at my wedding.
we went shopping today and she kept going into stores that looked like strippers shop there! and when they asked her what the dress was for she would say 'oh it's for someones wedding who is close to me'. i was right there!! why couldn't she say that it was for my wedding?? she KNOWS that it's totally not appropriate to be shopping in those stores for a MOB dress and she's embarrassed. so then why can't she buy a dress in like a department store or something???
where did your moms buy their dresses other than bridal salons??? please help

I CAN TOTALLY RELATE!!! My mom is such a pain in the butt....I swear looking for a dress for her was more difficult then finding my dress!
Shes still searching but she has her eye on one that she brought at Macys...its here hanging on a hanger...Im just waiting for her to say...hmm..I dont think I like that one anymore

my fmil just bought hers today at totally you in bellmore they have the hugest selection i beleive in all of li. Her jovani dress they said would be in a month $359

Mom got hers at Commack Wedding Center- pics in my dresses album.
My mom found her dres in Estelles but she did not like their return policy (No refunds only exchange within 3 days). She wants to be able to return in it if she finds something better somewhere else. So we ended up in Lord & Taylors & we found the same exact dress & color for about $3 cheaper. And she can return at anytime for refund as long as she has the receipt.

bridal reflections ...it was a sample sale of some sort----check out my album....she bought it off the rack but needed to get it fitted (it was too big)..

My mom bought hers at Metamorphosis in St. James. It looks like a tiny store from the outside but they had a huge selection. Hers is a Jovani strapless gown that came with a wrap.

We just found my FMIL's dress today at Estelle's. We didn't like anything in their official 'mother of the bride/groom' section (the section called Estelles II where they have wedding gowns) but we kept looking around and she found a nice dress/gown that comes with a pretty lightly beaded jacket and the price was great on top of that.
She also bought her earrings and necklace there.
The dress I fell in love with for my mom we found at RK Bridal. It is a Montage by Mon Cheri dress.
But definitely check out Macy's, Lord and Taylor, and Bloomies too!

Its a great store with LOTS of variety.

omg i remember how much both my MIL and my mom were driving me nuts cause they didn't get dresses early. my mom's dress was bought about 3 wks before the wedding, and MIL's dress was 2 wks before.
both were bought off the rack at Estelle's and I took them to phyllis at bridal elegance to alter them
Has she tried the non-bridal salons in department stores? Macys, Saks, Bloomingdales.....Also, give RK a visit.... Good luck! And tell her to get moving!! I totally understand where you're coming from, my mom is a HUGE pain in the a$$ - HUGE.

We had a great experience there yesterday. We also like Totally You in Bellmore. Both had large selections.
Hang in there, Jess. My mom has definitely tried on more dresses than I did. It's a frustrating process.
