Where do you get Optimum Online?

We'll be hooking up our home computer soon.Do you go to Cablevision or the Wiz? Does it work right away?

Ive had mine for almost 2 years now and I had someone come to the house to install the line. They are offering free installation and modem now (I think). Otherwise you have to go to a Cable store because there are only 2 Wiz stores on LI I think and Im not sure if they are still doing Cable stuff!!

Well, wherever you get it, you will be very happy with it!! I LOVE IT!!!!

Cablevision is nearby and so is the Wiz so its not a problem. We'll hook it up ourselves. I just don't know where we're supposed to go.

We got ours right through Cablevision. Someone came to the apartment to do it.

You can call the cable company directly. They will either send someone to install or you can do it yourself. I chose to do it myself, either way it's really easy!

Once you connect it, does it work right away or do you have to wait 24 hours for them to connect it or something?

I ordered on-line (www.optimumonline.com)
They sent me the modem (and necessary stuff), I received it from UPS 2 days later and then installed it myself. It was up and running right away!!

Someone at work just told me that you go to the Wiz and they give you everything you need to hook it up. After that you are billed every month by your cable company.

I've had it since 1998 & i can't live without it!! It's so fast!!!!!! We had someone from Cablevision come and install it-but that was back in the day when it first became available in our area! You used to be able to buy the modem from THE WIZ or you can rent it from cablevision i think....
