I am torn over where to go. My FI doesn't really want to go to Sandals anymore - he is thinking about Europe or doing something different. He doesn't like to lay out on a beach.
Is anyone doing something different or know someone that went to Europe on their HM? Confused on where to go and what to do.

We're going to Fiji, which is really active. But, we did think about Europe, we looked into Portugal, Spain, Italy and Greece. If you have an idea of what you want to do I might be able to forward you some info.
Also, I don't mean to pry, but if you FM me your budget and time table, I might be of some help...we looked into Africa, Central America, Europe and the South Pacific.....

We went to Paris, France for 11 days back in late August 2002 to early September 2002. Had we gotten married in 2003 with the policital situation of France vs. U.S.A.--yes, we still would have gone to Paris for our HM.

We were going to Italy, but changed our mind and are doing an Alaskan cruise that's round trip from Seattle, so we're doing a few days in Seattle too.

If you don't mind me asking, why did you switch ideas. Plus is the weather cold in Alaska in August. I heard the Alaskan Cruise is gorgeous - was thinking about it.

If you are thinking of Europe at that time just be aware that it can be extremely hot depending on where you are thinking of going. What about a cruise - there are plenty of activities so that you don't need to be a beach person to have a good time.
Etd to say if you are thinking about Alaska cruise - know that the perfect time is may/june/part of july - After that apparently the black flies take over.

We cancelled our Italy trip early this year before the war started, but when it was obvious it was going to start. All of the anti-American sentiment in Europe scared me. We cancelled the trip the same day that 1 million plus protesters marched in Rome. We didn't know how long the war would last, and we didn't want to have bad memories of our honeymoon.
Now that things have calmed down, but we've already paid for the cruise, we've decided to do Italy some time next year.

No Honeymoon for me...my FI ownes his own business and would have to close up shop while on our honeymoon
But, that ok with me, because I'm getting married where I have always dreamed of and never thought it would be there
A comprise I made, with NO REGRETS!! I and am very happy just to have my wedding day where and the way I always wanted!! We haven't taken a vacation in several years, so what's another year.....
Thank god for tanning beds, I lay in them, close my eyes and pretend to be at an exotic Island

We went to Thailand for 3 weeks. Bangkok, Ko Samui and Phuket. We loved it and the dollars goes VERY far there $43 to our $1. But it was the most hottest & humid place I have ever been in my life.

oh reconsider sandals. There is a lot to do. We did tons of water sports and had a blast! There are tours as well, we just didnt leave the property. We stayed in St. Lucia and it was AMAZING!

We are going to SPAIN!!! I can't wait. We'll be staying 3 nights in Barcelona and 6 nights in Marbella which is the souther coast (Spanish Riviera)!
